Why is bitcoin being targeted for its climate impact when other things are given a free pass?

For those of you that have been paying attention, bitcoin has clearly been targeted for its carbon footprint.

There are many other things with larger carbon footprints than bitcoin that are given a free pass.

Why is this happening?

It's simple, because they are being instructed to do so...

Gold and diamond mining, as well as just about every other type of mining in the world is worse for the environment than bitcoin mining.

The reason it is being scrutinized more than others is because it is newer and because it is competition to the status quo.

We need to make sure congress helps stand up the attacks.
