Will Bitcoin Suisse Become the World’s First Crypto Bank?
Today’s article is a bit different. Instead of an individual crypto I took a look at Bitcoin Suisse, an innovative crypto company that could become the world’s first crypto bank.
Bitcoin Suisse AG is a crypto company operating out of Switzerland.
It specializes in alternative finance and non-banking assets outside of the traditional financial system. Their focus is on Bitcoin and Ethereum, but they can advise and provide services in other cryptocurrencies as well.

Niklas did things right. He specifically chose Switzerland as the location to start Bitcoin Suisse because he didn’t want to put in all the time and effort just to have the rug pulled out from underneath him. So he spent two years living in Switzerland and working at a major investment bank (Credit Suisse) before starting Bitcoin Suisse with partners.
Bitcoin Suisse has been active in several lines of crypto business.
For example, in July 2016 started providing payment gateway services to the city of Stadtzug (Zug) in Switzerland. Zug is the first public entity in the world to accept bitcoin as a means of payment. It’s also known as Crypto Valley and home to the Ethereum Foundation and Shapeshift.
Bitcoin Suisse has also been active in running token sales. Melonport, Matchpool, TokenCard, Aeternity, Mysterium, Bancor, Status, OmiseGo, Tezos and Moeda all ran their token sales through Bitcoin Suisse.
It also worked with Falcon Private Bank for it to become the first Swiss bank to offer its clients the opportunity to invest directly into Bitcoin. Received approval from FINMA, the Swiss financial regulatory authority.
Bitcoin Suisse also provides liquidity for the Ethereum Foundation.
The ultimate goal of Bitcoin Suisse is to become a full-service crypto bank.

It's like an oxymoron. This is bankera and Polybious also around and it just goes against everything I really got into crypto for.
Yea the word bank strikes a nerve. But it's not like we're going to go straight from fiat to crypto. There'll be a messy middle part. I don't get too caught up in utopian visions. With a bank it's their money even when in my account. With crypto it's my money and I'd like to have services to use that money.
its a good idea however bitcoin wasn't made for banks.

We need services for money. Bitcoin is money. That's why it's needed.

One of the utopian visions for crypto was that it could provide financial services to those parts of the world that don't have access to traditional financial services.
But this seems like it's just trying to turn crypto in the developed world into something that people already do in terms of traditional banking.
It isn't what crypto is meant to be about.
What does this even mean and why do we need it?
Utopian visions are a waste of time.
Key difference b/t a fiat bank and crypto bank, w/ a crypto bank the money is yours.
We need it to bring crypto to the masses, plus for the services.
