This is a great shot. I admire your patience to wait for it, but like you said it is totally worth it.
I am still learning the trade of good photography, by trail and error, and by looking at other people's pictures. Some days ago I watched a youtube vid about the 'sandwich'-system that you should (or could) apply to all your images to improve them. Not sure if you were aiming for it but it is performed very well in your image.
That is an amazing shot buddy.. keep up the work:)
