• Rice water: this is the water you get after washing your rice before boiling, don't just dispose it, use it to wash your hair. It has been proved to help hair growth.

• Aloe vera: the gel from the plant is very useful in hair and skin health. Cut off a leaf of the plant, extract the gel and apply to your hair roots daily.

• Tumeric: this is also good for both your hair and skin health. You may add it to your olive oil or Shea butter or coconut oil. A little demerit is it tends to stain the hand and sometimes the hair. Wash off after 20-30mins.

Today, we'll be discussing transitioning.
We all want the healthy natural hair but getting it self elusive as your hair is well relaxed. Good news for you, you can transition, that is, you don't need to cut off your mane.
Once you decide to transition, you must begin following the natural hair rules as your roots become natural first, as it grows out, the tips become weaker and you will cut it off.

• Black soap shampoo is your friend.
• Wide-tooth comb is an ally.
• moisture, moisture and more moisture.

How old is your hair?

@bookoons: What prompted the move? Were you ever a natural?

@vheobong: It was an adventure for me, i can't remember keeping natural hair. I started afresh.

@bookoons: How's the journey so far? What are your challenges so far?

@vheobong: It has been tough oh. The journey has been sweet until recently, my hair is soft and kind of dry but i recently started having serious hair breakage...
I currently styled it into faux locs hoping the breakage stops. But then again I love my hair. Her name is Zahara and we are a perfect match.
