That's very true. It is very easy to become a prisoner of your own head, believing that it is an objective representation of the reality, when really it is all in our power and even our duty to question ourselves just as much as we question others. Your brain will always try to lead you into the safest, most avoidant, risk averse comfort zone possible, but our minds can rise above that, but it doesn't happen by itself, it is a continuous process of questioning the status quo and following your heart and experiential findings to figure out what can truly make you happy and set you free from the false expectations.
