Beer Review

Privateers #4 is a 9% alcohol/volume Imperial Double IPA brewed and canned by Armada Brewing at the Beeracks collaborative beer collective in East Haven, Connecticut. Armada launched in January of 2017 and since then they have built a fleet of delicious beer. They self-distribute their brews to 100's of retail and draft sellers across the state. The Privateers #4 is the fourth beer of the Privateers series. This one is an Ice Cream Double IPA brewed with 200 pounds of Waffle Cones, Madagascar Vanilla Bean, and Lactose.

The Can

The Privateers #4 is served in a full pint can. It has a very similar label to the three Privateers beers that were released before this one. It's a classy design with shiny gold letters and a brief description of the beer.

The Beer

The Privateers #4 was a delicious take on an ice cream style IPA. It's dry hopped with Vic Secret and Idaho #7 after being brewed with a load of waffle cones, vanilla and lactose. You can taste the sweetness of the waffle cones in each sip with a bit of tropical fruit from the hops. At 9% alcohol/volume it's a heavy hitter. Overall it's a flavorful and fun DIPA. I look forward to trying more beers from Armada Brewing in the future!
