Beer Review

NHVIPA is a 6% alcohol/volume New England-style IPA brewed and canned at Overshores Brewing Company in East Haven, CT exclusively for Armada Brewing in collaboration with Erector Brewing Collective. The NHVIPA stands for New Haven IPA as it was created in the New Haven area. Armada launched in January of 2017 and since then they have built a fleet of delicious beer. They self-distribute their brews to 100's of retail and draft sellers across the state.

The Can

This was a really cool beer. The label features the famous YALE logo missing it's 'Y', effectively making it ALE. Yale is a private ivy league American university founded in 1701. It was created even before the American Revolution. Some of the most prestigious people including presidents and financial tycoons graduated from Yale. The side of the can included a list of the many things associated with Yale:

Secret Society, Tomb, Rituals, Deer Island, Brotherhood, Alumni, 322, Conspiracies, Skull and Bones, World Dominance, Illuminati, Alchemists, Presidents, Doctors, Collaborators, 1832. But this… is just a beer.

The Beer

The NHVIPA was a juicy IPA as you can see. It was glowing bright orange when I poured it into a glass, but at the same time it was ultra hazy. Upon first taste I caught a hint of the boozy alcohol flavor, which I was not expecting at 6%. As I finished up the glass it began to go down like a session. It was hoppy and juicy but not too overpowering. Overall a great beer with an awesome label. I look forward to trying more beers from Armada in the future.
