#BeautifulSunday and #SublimeSunday :) - Yamatoya, a well hidden Jazz spot in Kyoto, Japan
This is my entry for the #BeautifulSunday challenge, initiated by @ace108. Thanks, my friend!
And I'm also posting today inspired by #SublimeSunday, a tag from @c0ff33a! Thanks!
Today I'm writing about Yamatoya, the well-hidden Jazz spot in Kyoto, Japan. It seems I really enjoyed Kyoto better than Tokyo, just by acknowledging the number of posts I´ve been talking about and recommending so far. And it´s true! Kyoto is the perfect city to visit!
Jazz Spot Yamatoya is centrally located, but not as central as the Jazz In bar I've told you about a couple of weeks ago in #BeautifulSunday and #SublimeSunday. We walk to there and seemed to me it was very far, although now that I’ve spotted it in the @steemitworldmaps I realized is also central, not far from the Imperial Palace of Kyoto.
The Jazz Spot Yamatoya it’s located in an alley, and when you come in you get surprised by the dimension – it’s reasonably big, with around 15 tables -, and a neat and quite elegant retro’s style decoration: floral wallpaper, beautiful chandeliers with warm and welcoming light, paintings' copies frames and precious decoration pieces hanged on the walls.
As soon as we came we got surrounded by the sound of the smooth jazz music it was playing and the warm welcoming from the staff, which offered us a welcoming gift, an origami miniature of a bird. The place was quite empty, but it was already late for the Asiatic standards. But, even so, the ambiance was inspiring and inviting, promising some good late evening moments to enjoy!
We stood by a wall who was completely covered, from the floor to the ceiling, by vinyl records. Vinyls, vynils everywhere! More than a thousand, that´s for sure! Just check out the photos!
We had an Asahi, a local beer, and were happily chatting, listening to the music and noticing the details around for a couple of hours, like some old posters with covers and biographies of famous jazz singers and players.
To sum up, like other iconic places we visited, this was another experience we will treasure among our trips’ memories as a jewel. Here are two photos of us that captured this happy moment!
I've tried also, for the first time ever, to make a crazy and funky edit of the origami bird photo, what do you think about it ;)?
My original text and photos (Canon 5D MkIII and iPhone X).
Thanks, @ace108 and @c0ff33a :)
Have a great Sunday, my friends!

Quite an amazing place, that is a whole load of Vinyl! I'm old enough to remember those plastic discs with groove - even did a bit of scratching with the things back in my youth.
Super edit of the origami bird - an amazing day out for #SublimeSunday thank you for sharing it with us.
