Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday - The Vintage Market !!
Today turn out a very enjoyable and fulfilled day my friends parents were visiting Bangkok city all the way from Brisbane , Australia. We had decided to visit the Vintage markets over the other side of town as i felt it would be a interesting place to have a walk around and take us back in time and they agreed so of we went.
To get to the Vintage market you can either take a Skytrain or the MRT which is the underground train we decided on the Skytrain as you can see Bangkok city from above it's more interesting seeing the city then dark tunnels.
So when you get to Mo Chit Skytrain station you walk down to the main road and walk away from Mo Chit station along the main road and follow it along about half kilometer around the bend enjoying some street entertainment as your walking , all young students who will come here on a weekend to play a instrument to earn some monies for their education or for their families.
If you take the MRT underground train when you get to Kamphaeng Phet station jump of take Exit 1 walk up from the underground station and you will see the Vintage market straight in front of you.
So this is what you see in front of you as your exit from the underground train station.
These are all garden settings and statue for water fountains.
These are some beautiful huge street lamps going back in time so much work and design gone into them and probably hand made.
And this was only the outside of this huge Vintage market and already we were seeing some amazing stuff.
This guy was not only selling old style studio photography lights but he had a nice little collection of Bonsai trees he was selling also.
As we walk along the outside towards the end we turn left and there are all little old style cafes were you can have a coffee , tea , beer or something to eat all in a 60 and 70's style and also do some shopping in these cafes so many interesting items in these cafes as well.
We decided not to stop for coffee because there was just so much to see and we were quite happy to move along. This jukebox reminded me of the Fonzie days and Marilyn Monroe all coming alive again.
Stop in and have 70's tattoo done it's all here.
As we walked along we see the first entrance from the front of the Vintage market you just about couldn't see the other end this market was stacked to the top of some many interesting items.
We looked at each other and our eyes just about popped out of our sockets how have they managed to collect all these items and it wasn't only Thai vintage it was Western and European vintage also.
I couldn't begin to tell you the names of all these vintage items but i am sure everyone would know what we are seeing here certainly the ideal place to come if you were doing up a vintage house.
At the other end of one of them long corridor we walked down was a not so vintage store but very interesting maybe Chinese ceramics , pot plants , huge vases , ornaments , statues and many more.
Then it was back up the next corridor to see more. This cash register must have weighed a ton they must have needed at least ten men to move this around in them days.
Anyone for a coke....lol :)
Were is the dial tone how do you make a call with this thing...lol :)
A Italian Vesper side cart motorbike never seen one of these before.
These Holy Crosses were absolutely beautiful if i was to buy anything here today i would be buying one of these stunning Holy Crosses.
So this was the Vintage market it was like going back in a time machine now we needed to get back to reality it was time to get back over the other side of Bangkok city again we were going to meet some more friends at the Hilton hotel on the Chao Phraya River for afternoon Chinese buffet so this time we took the MRT underground train we were right next to the station and it was quicker to get to the other side of the city. We were all starving by this time.
Once we were at the Chao Phraya river they have a free shuttle boat that will take you across the river to the Hilton Hotel how convenient.
About a 15 minute boat ride across to the Hilton hotel enjoying a few of the river views.
Once at the Hilton hotel a couple more photos of the stunning views from the Hilton hotel looking across the river.
Then it was up to the second floor to Yuam Chinese restaurant to murder this Dim Sum Buffet.
We certainly enjoyed this buffet the best of Dim Sum's we have ever tasted and just like that after eating non stop for 2 hours this beautiful Sunday was coming to a end we were back on the shuttle boat and heading home.
Back at the BTS Skytrain said our goodbyes and home for me to write up my adventurous awesome day spent with some of my amazing friends.
And my day had been as beautiful and pretty as these flower and i didn't want to end it.
I hope you all had a great Sunday like me thank you @ace108 for hosting #beautifulsunday and thank you @c0ff33a for hosting #SublimeSunday.

Thank you @pixresteemer :)
Beautiful day! I'm impressed by the vintage shop! So many objects that I wanted to have.
You didn't say anything about the prices. They are big?
An excellent blog, I was pleased to read it.
Bangkok city is impressive, almost alien, which is why many films about the future portray a society similar to the one there. !trdo
Ohhhh...i could have taken a truck load home if i had any room in my place. Most things didn't have price tags everything was negotiable it's the way they do business over here. You are right Bangkok has many surprises it never ceases to amaze me and i am glad you enjoyed this post i have another vintage market i am going to visit this weekend coming :)
I understand, all is negotiable. Of course. I'm glad you like where you live and that place has much more to offer you.
Beautiful photos in such a nice story!
Thank you my friend it was a awesome day :)
How indeed all these vintage items were collected? What a big collection of things I never thought ever existed. I would be lost in such place.
You had fantastic time. 😀
Indeed i have been wondering the same thing how and where they got all these iteams but i suppose during the war time there were a lot of American's and Englishman based here and when the war was over they all went back home and i suppose every thing was just left behind that's my assumption :)
Thank you for taking us along on this fascinating, interesting and beautiful walk @hangin I got to see a lot more of Thailand I hadn't seem before and I have to say that I am very envious of your Aussie visitors. 😄
You are most welcome my friend and it's a pleasure to bring it to you and hopefully you can be my next Aussie visitor and i will certainly give you that VIP treatment also :)
Have a great week ahead my friend :)
Oh, wow!!! Overload!!!!! What a treat! Thanks for all these photos and showing us Thailand not seen by most! Have a beautiful and sublime Sunday, @hangin!

So full of antiques and you resisted buying anything.
Must be saving up the money for the buffet. :-)
Haha...it was hard not to buy anything but i am saving it till i move to my new place next year then i will go on a shopping spree...lol
Oh... that will keep you busy.
It certainly will i will be moving by the ocean out of the mad city jungle looking forward to it :)
What an amazing experience! I'm not much of a shopper, but that would be a fascinating market to visit and I do enjoy looking at the vintage stuff! Now, the part with the dimsum... Oh, yum!
It was indeed it just bought back so many memories looking at it all and there is another vintage market i heard about that i might visit this weekend and yep the dimsum were just superb :)
The memories are the best part of vintage shops! You can't get dimsum in my relatively small town in Wisconsin. I need to put it on my list for the next time I am in the city
That is so true that part i enjoyed the most...really no dimsum in that town omg i see then around every corner i turn over here they are just a great easy yummy snack at any time :)
Not a big Asian population here. We have really great Mexican restaurants, though!
Understand well you can't go wrong with Mexican foods they have some pretty good dishes also :)
I love Mexican food, and we have some of the best! Now if we only had a good Thai place!
