NBA Draft 2018: TOP 20 selected

in #basketball6 years ago

It was a relatively calm night of draft. Phoenix Suns predicted they chose DeAndre Ayton as their number one, while Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks agreed on an exchange that resulted in Luka Doncić in Texas and Trae Young in Georgia. What will the draft class be like? Let us hope that it will provide us with more emotions than disappointments.

1. DeAndre Ayton (Phoenix Suns)

No surprise and as expected. DeAndre Ayton is a player compared to Joel Embiid. Phoenix Suns say it will help them patch the hole under the basket and create a strong duet with the rotation leader - Devin Booker. So far, he loves media presence and loves to talk a lot.

2. Marvin Bagley III (Sacramento Kings)

Strong winger with an extremely powerful ending action on the rim. Offensively has the potential that will allow him to dominate in the first year, the problem will be his defensive attitude.

3. Luka Doncić (Atlanta Hawks - transferred to Dallas Mavericks)

Luka Doncić will be transferred to the Dallas Mavericks in this exchange. In return, Mavs will receive pick 5 of this draft and an additional selection from next year's selection. Extraordinary talent and MVP Final Four Euroleague, which says a lot about its capabilities and potential. The NBA will be a kind of verification for him.

4. Jarren Jackson Jr (Memphis Grizzlies)

High with a good throw for three, decent effectiveness from the free-throw line, but most of all the best defensive player of the last NCAA season. He should give Memphis Grizzlies a lot of blocks and a lot of changes in the decisions of players who try to attack him under the rim.

5. Trae Young (Dallas Mavericks - transferred to Atlanta Hawks)

Probably the best thrower of this year's draft class. He is compared to Stephen Curry, especially in terms of confidence in his own roll. However, he will have problems in defense.

6. Mohamed Bamba (Orlando Magic)

It is possible that the best blocking this year's draft. A great collector who can play very similar to Rudy Gobert. It has a lot of quality, an offensive good partner for the binary game, but it will be thoroughly polished.

7. Wendell Carter Jr (Chicago Bulls)

A very intelligent player who has a good game with his back to the basket. Extremely strong and has an instinct to fight for rewards. Well defends bivalent rival actions. His greatest asset may be the impeccable work ethic that stood out in Duke with Mike Krzyżewski.

8. Collin Sexton (Cleveland Cavaliers)

In Ohio, they chose without any information about LeBron James. They chose an extremely talented peripheral - fast, dynamic, sometimes unpredictable, thanks to which his game can be spectacular. Very good defender, mainly thanks to the intensity he throws at the opponent.

9. Kevin Knox (New York Knicks)

Supporters of the Madison Square Garden team demanded Michael Porter Jr., but the New York Knicks bet on Knox, which is a versatile offensive strong wingman. His tasks in the NBA will probably focus mainly on providing points from various parts of the dance floor.

10. Mikal Bridges (Philadelphia 76ers - transferred to Phoenix Suns)

Shooter, with a great catch-and-shoot and repeatability for three. It should be a great complement to Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton. He has a problem with creating his own throw, but here in Phoenix should not worry.

11. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Charlotte Hornets - transferred to Los Angeles Clippers)

Transferred to Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for picking No. 12 this year's selection and two pickies from the second round of next year's draft. Supposedly the best quarterback of this year's class, very good shooter and fierce defensor who can cover several different positions.

12. Miles Bridges (Los Angeles Clippers -> Charlotte Hornets)

Very good offensive player - can aggressively enter the basket with a ball or try on from a distance. He also has a dangerous throw for three and moves well on his legs on the defensive.

13. Jerome Robinson (Los Angeles Clippers)

Developed offensive player who deals well with the ball in binary actions. It also has a good throw, slightly worse defensive. Donovan Mitchell was chosen last year with thirteen, so Mitchell's magic is on him. We should not expect it to do equally well.

14. Michael Porter Jr (Denver Nuggets)

One of the biggest enigma of this year's draft, which is mainly associated with question marks about his health. An extremely capable offensive player. If he is healthy, he can be the best player in this class. In his game there is a lot of fluidity and a lot of lightness. Can he handle the intensity of the NBA?

15. Troy Brown (Washington Wizards)

He should be a positive support from the bench. He is a versatile player in attack, relatively good in defense. He may be a laborer, but we can not pigeonhole anyone until he shows his skills on the big stage.

16. Zhaire Smith (Phoenix Suns - transferred to Philadelphia 76ers)

Phoenix Suns along with Smith decided to give the Sixers pick from the first round of draft 2021 (obtained from Miami Heat) in exchange for Mikal Bridges originally chosen by Philadelphia.

17. Donte DiVincenzo (Milwaukee Bucks)

18. Lonnie Walker IV (San Antonio Spurs)

19. Kevin Huerter (Atlanta Hawks)

20. Josh Okogie (Minnesota Timberwolves)
