Ohhh wow! What an awesome first episode. We’ve received great response and it's great to see the engagement in the Steemit community. Episode 1 finished last Saturday with 5 entries. The team at @ftlob had a really hard time judging these masterpieces. We'd like to present you the contestants and winners.

Winner 1: Pechiche Mena about Olvidé San Telmo winning 6 STEEM

@pechichemena @luisferchav

Click the link above to visit the original review or read below.

@pechichemena won this first episode with a very detailed, personal review of Olvidé San Telmo. Steemit is a great way to discover new music, styles and ways of using different instruments. It's also really amazing that the review is written both in English and in Spanish, which adds to the readibility for many Steemians out there. The review has a great build up and we're proud to be able to share it on our almost-finished new website. We expect to add the review to ForTheLoveOfBands.com next weekend. Now, before I'll write too much, check out the band, read the review and enjoy!

Hello Steemit!

Well , apart from the fact that I love what they do , one of the reasons I picked "Olvidé San Telmo'' for this review is because all of their members are now on Steemit : @luisferchav , @vera.carla , @roman.musica , @matiasmenarguez and @ivan.deiana . Being Ivan the last one who joined just a couple of days ago ( so if this post wins a place , just transfer all the STEEM to @ivan.deiana as a little welcome :D ).

Olvidé San Telmo is a great example of different minds working together to achieve a common sound , they ALL come from very different musical backgrounds and have their own sound explorations. Somehow, they found a middle ground in which they combine all these elements into one compact sound concept.

They combine Jazz, Folklore, Pop elements and even some theatrical and conceptual performances into their shows, combined with some cool visuals it is for sure a show you wouldn't want to miss. They use a very particular selection of instruments like the Charango, Roncoco, Sitar and the Uke Bass to mix them with more traditional instruments like drums and percussion to provide a bed in which very Pop like melodies sit on top.. it is a very nice mix of elements , and very original in my opinion.

They recently recorded their album ''Lo que nace del suelo'' which is available at Spotify , so do yourself a favor and give it a listen!

Also, check their Single ''Lo que nace del suelo'' , a very uplifting and entertaining song!

I recommend you go visit their page and listen to their music.. and also.. check their individual blogs , they all write about very different and interesting things in this platform.

Winner 2: Darren Claxton about Jon Magnusson winning 3 STEEM

@darrenclaxton @jonmagnusson

Darren wrote this thoughtful review on his hold (and hacked) account of mrbloom. Some shitface stole his money but with the help of the @helpie family, the phoenix quickly rose again! Darren's insightful review was really written from the heart. Competing in this challenge, he shows to be a true supporter of the independent music scene. Go check it out for yourself :-)

I'd like to talk about a fellow Steemit musician and friend I've made here on @steemit these past few weeks.
@jonmagnussun Is a really great guy, songwriter and musician from Stockholm in Sweden. It's a place I'd love to visit one day, and now I have a musical connection with this beautiful country, the power of STEEM could propell me over there to play a few shows with Jon!

And now it's getting difficult. We've therefore chose to extend the reward pool so we can reward all contestants :-)

Winner 3 (split): D-VINE feat. JEFF LEINWAND @d-vine @jeffleinwand, Raven about Newen X @ravenmus1c @newenx and Jon Magnusson about Darren Claxton all winning 1 STEEM.

D-VINE feat. JEFF LEINWAND

Besides being an awesome person, @d-vine was (together with @seveaux and special guest @chiefmappster) the host of the very first 'The Needle On Your Record Show' last Wednesday. Make sure to tune in tomorrow (March 21) as well.

This Bands About Bands edition we got to listen to all great tracks, and Jeff Leinwand is no expection. Thanks a lot d-vine for putting together such a great review! It's awesome to see bands and artists supporting each other. So rewarding :-) Read a snippit of the review below and read the original article.

Jeff Leinwand use to play the guitar in a Hardcore/Punk Band.
He started producing music in 1994 & the first program he used was Cubasis.
Being who he is, a true gear-head, he shortly after purchased his first synth the Alessis Quadra & the sampler Akai S 2000. [...]

I have to admit here, I am a complete fan.
I admire his thrive, dedication, constant development, plus education in his music & music gear.

Jon Magnusson about Darren Claxton

Who cares if you're biased ;) As long as you're writing such great reviews of great artists, it's cool! Through Jon's review we got to know Darren who then wrote a review about Jon (remember from the one you read above?). Jon has managed to give a really personal twist to the review which made it very meaningful. This is Jon in optima forma and in case you haven't already, check out The Monsterthread

Before you keep reading, yeah I am biased. This is a guy writing open hearted indie folk songs, talking openly about mental health issues and works hard building relationships, it could be my twin brother.

But it isn't. We just got to know each other thanks to @steemit a few weeks ago. And though I haven't had time to listen to all of his repertoire yet I will review the song of him I listened to the most.

Raven about Newen X

Awesome! Thanks for writing such an insightful review about @newenx's song Madness. The review has a great build-up and it shows you support other independent artists. Love it that you added your first contact to the review as well, makes it really personal.

Hello all. :)
How could I write my first review for BandsAboutBands about any other musician but Newen X? ;)

I got to know him about one year ago. I remember seeing this one guy I did not know, voting for my tracks non stop on Atomcollectorrecords. A few weeks later, I got a message on Soundcloud. He wrote:
