NYC COLDEST THANKSGIVING RECENT TIMES EXPECTED
Good morning everyone. While things have settled down a lot from out late week snowy surprise last week, we have another headline-maker coming up for Thanksgiving Day. Meanwhile, things are looking rather innocuous in between.

Some slightly good news I’m the works for today in tomorrow in the form of a late arrival for that weak system I was talking about a few days ago. That will clear the path for a decent but cold day today with highs in the low to mid 40’s; and no mixed precip tonight outside of the City or with this system at all.
Because of its late arrival, we will also be on the warmer side of things. Expect increasing clouds tomorrow with a slight chance of light showers; highs in the upper 40’s to low 50’s. Overnight, the “bulk” of the rain will come in, then spill into Tuesday morning. Clearing will ensue Tuesday afternoon, with highs dropping back into the low 40’s.
Although not impressive, that system will bring in an impressive reinforcing shot of cold air; starting off with cold and sunny Wednesday with highs in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. Then, a very cold Thanksgiving Day, with highs near or just below freezing. If the day unfolds like this, it’ll be the coldest Thanksgiving we’ve had in quite some time; possibly the coldest since 1996 where the high was around 31°.
For your long holiday weekend, we’ll “modify” into the upper 30’s for Friday, then “rocket” into the upper 40’s for Saturday; but that’s the signature of an approaching system and Sunday could be a cloudy and rainy one.
