All of us here on Steemit can see clearly that we are moving towards a different kind of financial and commercial future and we all have the opportunity to take advantage of this change by being in the right place at the right time, as well as making the right decisions.
It’s not at all easy though, to make the right decisions when we have no idea what we are doing and risk losing our shirt if we make a mistake whilst learning. So I have devised a little contest to help anyone who is keen to learn how to trade in a risk free environment and have the opportunity to try their hand before diving in at the deep end for real,...
.... as well as providing the opportunity for any experienced traders to showcase their trading skills. :)
So How Does It Work?
The Championship will last for six weeks, during which time there will be two rounds per week, making a total of 12 rounds. Rounds will start on Sunday and Thursday nights.
At the beginning of each round you will have 1BTC (fictional) and I will provide you all with a selection of 12 altcoins by way of a screenshot from Bittrex. Using the last sold price(as dictated by the screenshot),participants will invest their fictional bitcoin into one or several of the selected coins within two hours of the initial post.Players will then calculate their profits/losses using '24 hour high' prices of the coins at the time of the round ending. This will be three days later and screenshots will once again be provided. The top three gainers will be verified and awarded points towards the Championship and Grand Prize.
This will be repeated round by round for the duration of the championship, at the end of which, whoever has gained the most points over the course, will be crowned Steemits first...

I've tried to keep the concept as simple as possible for Season One of the #atc by sticking to the top 20 volume coins each week as a starting point as well as being generous in having you use the '24 hour high' of each coin when returning your investments to BTC. Next season, I will be introducing some new aspects to help you further develop your trading skills, a few of which I already have in mind. But I would also be interested in hearing what you have to say and hearing any suggestions you might have going forward, so please feel free to share your thoughts with me and let me know any improvements you feel could be made. :)
It has also been suggested to me that perhaps an app along similar lines would be a good and very useful way of learning about trading for those wishing to do so, so if there are any developers out there with any ideas along these lines, I would be very happy to hear them also. :)
