Below are the rules for Season 1 of the Altcoin Trading Championship. These rules will apply to the 12 rounds in Season 1 only. This season is somewhat of an experiment and will be used as a guide on how to choose more appropriate rules for the following seasons.

How to take part

• At the beginning of each round(see below for schedule) a selection of altcoins will be presented using a screenshot from bittrex at the time of the round starting.

• Participants will start with 1 fictional bitcoin (1BTC) and can choose to invest it in one or several of the coins provided for that round.

• Players must make a post on their blog detailing how they are going to invest their fictional bitcoin. Calculations will be done using the "LAST PRICE" of each coin at the time of the round starting(screenshot will be provided)The title should be "Altcoin Trading Championship Round "x" Entry" and the first tag must be ATC for verification purposes. Please note that steemdb will be used to verify winning entries, so be sure to double and triple check your entry before making your posts. Any post edits will not be valid, only the very first submission to the blockchain will count.

• All valid entries must be posted within 6 hours of the initial post for the launch of the round.

• Players are expected to do their own mathematics, and to double check if necessary.

• At the end of each round(see schedule below), a second set of screenshots will be taken from bittrex at the exact time of the round ending. Users will then do their own math and calculate their profits/losses using the "24 HIGH" of each coin as dictated by the screenshots.

• Players will then share their final scores in a comment on the "end of the round" post. The highest profits will be verified to be both accurate and valid entries, at which point, prizes and points will be distributed.

• Participants can choose to take part in one round, the occasional round, or every round. However, with one point per round going to each valid entrant, your chances of winning the grand prize will be greatly increased by participating in all rounds.

Scoring

• Each round, every player with a valid entry will receive 1 point. The player with the highest profits in the round will receive 5 points. 2nd place will receive 3 points, and 3rd place will receive 2 points. The player who has accumulated the most points after the 12 rounds will be crowned Steemit's Altcoin Trading Champion and receive the Grand Prize.

Note: I can guarantee that I will personally verify the validity of the top 3 entries, but depending on the amount of players we have, it may be necessary for participants to review fellow-participant's entries and report any invalid ones.

Prizes

• Each round, 50% of the liquid rewards will go to the winner of the round. The other 50% of the liquid rewards from each round will go towards the main prize at the end of the season.

NOTE: For each round, only the "round start', "round finish" and 'announcing the winners' posts will count towards the prizes for that round. All other ATC posts including promotional, rules, scores and more will have 100% of the liquid rewards put towards the Grand Prize.

The Grand Prize

• At the end of the season, the player who has accumulated the most points will receive the Grand Prize.

• I will personally guarantee that this is at least 100 SBD, but if the tournament is a success then it could potentially be a lot more.
