Abandoned Apartment (in Vila do Conde)
Here is my entry for the Abandoned Shit Weekly Contest - № 20 - 'Windows!' by @customnature
These photos were taken inside an abandoned apartment. The door was wide open when I passed by and since no one was looking, I decided to get in and investigate.
What a mess... there's even a pillow on the corner
It appeared someone had recently been there... maybe a homeless person spending the night, or simply some youngsters who had found no better place to drink a few beers.
Broken stuff everywhere, scattered bottles... was there a party here?
I don't understand how the owners have left this space open... and rotting. With a bit of a cleanup, this wouldn't be difficult to rent, specially since it's located just a few hundred meters away from the beach.
I bet a maid would run away from this...
There were a couple of windows on the back wall, without the glass... a perfect entry for all kinds of worms and insects. As well as an entry point to a house's worst enemy: water!
If you want to make some tea, just grab a couple of leaves
Judging by the plants that were already crawling in, this place has been abandoned for quite some time.
I hope you have liked this post. Please leave a comment, whether you're a bot or not.

That's too bad (
Desolation is found in any country ...
Очень жаль (
Запустение такое встречается в любой стране
I've seen much worse. This is still in a very good shape, it's still easily recoverable.
I think there's a law in the Netherlands that prevent this kind of abandonment, and it should be applied here, too: basically, any vacant building needs to be maintained/occupied or else the city hall will take it from the owners and rent it at low prices to the students.
With that law, the owners don't leave stuff abandoned like this, because they'll lose it.
Here, on the other hand, the owners prefer to leave things to rot... and when there's no possible salvation, they are allowed to demolish it - to build something else. It's very stupid but the current law makes people want to abandon things, since they are forbidden to demolish the buildings and build new ones, while they're in good condition.
In this country, it pays off to abandon buildings for 10 or 20 years... Unfortunately, it's faster and cheaper than trying to do it any other way.
Очень жаль...
I love those plants creeping in :D
Well, I've seen some abandoned places, but somehow such a 'generic' apartment empty is an even weirder sight... It seems to me it should be valuable enough that somebody can make money from it and thus take care of it.
Must have a story behind it :D
For sure, but who knows? I can only guess.
Are you shy.
OMG :P

And? When are you moving in? ;-)
I am waiting for the swimming pool to be installed. AKA puddle of mud. 😂
Then I think you better start digging ;-)
Think for yourself, not for me.
Я всегда думаю сам!
Ну хотелось бы поверить но не получится.
The research was successful
