Finding Stars and Constellations: Virgo

In order to find the constellation of Virgo, the best thing to do is to look a little west of Libra. It will be right there! The brightest star in Virgo is Spica.

Spica (Alpha Virginis) is actually a binary system, with its primary star being a blue giant. Its radius is 7.47 times that of the Sun and it is located 250 light years from Earth
