The New Moon in Aries arrived early, early this morning -- around 3 AM Mountain time. So it's time to wake up and focus on you. In fact, let me welcome you to the start of the real New Year -- the one marked and honored by the cosmos! All that fuss and silliness in January is just an artificial human construction.
It's like money. It doesn't mean a thing in real terms. It gets all its value from the fact that collectively we've agreed to pay attention to it. That alone tells you something sad about the human condition, but I'll try not to preach this time. It's like shouting into the wind. So here we go with the New Moon in Aries. Seriously ... welcome. Coming awake ... coming alive ... again
The general tone of life for everyone is dynamic, excited, upbeat, and ambitious. After the quiet, reflective time of Pisces, the energy most available in the world is assertive, courageous, enterprising, and direct. New plans are coming together and are ready for attention, ready for launch, ready for action. This is a time of pioneering initiative, increased physical and sexual drive, and a definite emphasis on winning.
The prevailing spirit supports new initiatives, new projects, new goals. The overall theme is innovation. Ego interests and emotions are unusually united in an intense drive to state your intentions, make new inroads that will eventually bring you more success and influence, and above all get your own way -- even if it means tromping on a few toes in the scramble.
You are very honest about how you feel ... and can be impatient, touchy, and downright belligerent if other people ... or the circumstances of life ... don't cooperate in your schemes ... or at least get out of the way!! The trouble is, everybody is feeling touched by this influence, so the potential for spats and skirmishes is high.

It's quite a change of pace
In this mix of rising ambition and pressure, everybody is feeling both pushy and pushed, irritable and edgy. Right now, it's wise to take independent action wherever possible ... and let everybody try to stay out of everybody else's way. Tempers will settle down in a few weeks and this fever pitch will mellow out. Until then the best strategy is to join the flow and enjoy the world's lively mood, set your sights high, and try to make progress without making enemies.
The New Moon in Aries is a double dose of drive, assertiveness, ambition, enterprise, and the dynamic desire to start something new, do something bold, and take risks that might have been overwhelming or even foolish until now. This is, in many ways, the launching point of action and development for what will unfold over the next year, so plan your shots carefully and aim high.
Consider that perhaps it's better to fall short while reaching for something spectacular than to hold back because you're afraid to take a big enough chance. (At least that's the advice from here. But then I was born under the New Moon in Aries, and I will not spend my life wondering what would have happened if I'd only been a little braver. That's the spirit to use in approaching your own life this month.) Be wise. Have fun. Travel safely.

With the arrival of Aries every year, we come again to a place of new beginnings. We've made another journey around the spiral of creation -- and hopefully we've learned something new about ourselves with the investment of time and effort.
Whatever your sign and wherever Aries is placed in your Natal Chart, this moment of renewed alignment between your sense of self (Sun energy) and your emotional commitment (Moon energy) marks the place where action begins for you. Nice read. I'm a taurus sun, libra moon and rising. I definitely believe that the new moon energy has given me a lot more drive to reconnect with the folks I care about and reinvest my time in projects I believe worthwhile.
