It's Astro-Logical -- practical advice for conscious living ---> Issue #54

The Full Moon in Libra Opposing the Aries Sun
arrived a few hours after the Equinox this year
on the evening of March 20 at 0° 09' of the signs.

In astrology, an opposition between the Sun and the Moon always indicates a hyper-sensitive situation, where emotions are on full display, and "other people" are more easily able to jerk your strings and get on your nerves. It's also a situation where options are more readily available -- but so are ambivalence and confusion.

You may see life more readily from "another person's point of view" ... but you'll also feel constrained to take this other perspective (and these other people) into account, when that may not be convenient -- or even agreeable for you. The feeling of division ... within yourself ... and between "you and them" ... mirrors the testy, irritable mood of this time.

So what does this mean in plain English?

The Full Moon between the Aries Sun and the Libra Moon brings this situation front and center in ways that are rarely comfortable. This is the conflict between "your individual interests and wishes" and "other people's agendas and designs" ... in spades. The energy of the Aries Sun is assertive, competitive, forceful, and independent. The energy of the Libra Moon is cooperative, sociable, concerned with other people, and wants everything to be "nice."

("Can't we all just get along?" ... whines the Libra Moon. "You're darn-tootin' we can, if you'll just get out of my way!! ... growls the Sun in Aries. Aries wants self-determination: Libra wants companionship and company. Aries feels like its trying to fight off a swarm of bees: Libra feels rejected and unloved. And so it goes.)

These two energies simply do not mix well. Under stress, the energy of the Aries Sun becomes impatient, pushy, aggressive, and self-centered, while the energy of the Libra Moon becomes manipulative, passive-aggressive, exceptionally sensitive, and feels "used and pushed around."

With everyone feeling these two conflicting attitudes ... the atmosphere is charged with the potential for problems, or at the very least a sharp exchange of words. This is very much a time of rebalancing "your needs" and "everybody else's needs."

For a while, you will work to redefine (and differentiate between) your ambitions and your self-identity -- and those of your partners and close associates. These next several weeks will bring into sharp focus the need for a compromise between what you want ... and what your partners want from you, between your image of yourself as an autonomous, self-regulating person and what you need to contribute to your relationships -- perhaps in order to keep them in your life.

It's a balancing act we all go through from time to time -- and in various parts of our lives. And, well ... here it is again.
