Hey there my steemit friends! Recently I got to spend time in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. This city is so rich in history and culture, I really enjoy visiting places like this as I travel around the globe. Coming from Thailand and Laos where I spent most of the last four months, it's quite a change. No Buddhist temples here.
Ecuador like most of Latin America is mostly Catholic. The Basilica took some effort to get the project off the ground. After years of persuasion Father Julio Maria Matovelle got his wish and in 1892 construction began under the leadership of a French Architect by the name of Emilio Tarlier.
Technically the "Iglesia" or church in Spanish, has never been completed. However it stands as one of the largest, oldest, and most impressive Gothic churches in all of South America.
While walking the halls of this church you can't help but feel humbled and impressed. The stain glass windows were just one beautiful part of this amazing place. Now lets have a look at this incredible stain glass artwork inside of the Basilica in Quito Ecuador!

Too many place to to narrow it down to just one. Maybe the more secluded northern side of Bali. Or wandering the streets and markets of Taipai. Or maybe Nagoya Japan.....Or maybe this dumpy Market in Medellin Colombia, Cambodia Ankor Watt, Jeju Island Korea? Laos?......I really don't know! But Thanks for asking. Maybe I should do a post on not knowing! lol

the stained glass is incredible! even though I'm not religious, I love the landscapes and design elements as well as how they approached the imagery. I love seeing pieces like this from different parts of the world! I would imagine that you have quite a few photos of "things" creatives have made around the world! Fun post, thanks Dan!
So glad you enjoyed. Yes, I have so many photos and things I can share it's unreal. Since I joined steemit I've been taking much more photos and better ones with my blog in mind. But I was recently looking back in my save photos. I could start doing post from when I visited Japan like 8 years ago. I even have photos of myself in Thailand 15 years ago at the age of 20!
So I just put a post on how to avoid food born illenss when Traveling. @chefsteve asked this. I spetn hours and hours......and hours putting this post together yesterday. I'd love for you to have a look. Would really appreciate it.
