The Endless Staircase at Munich (Germany)

Munich is a city full of surprises. As long as you walk around, you'll be encountering interesting Sculptures and Street Art pretty much everywhere.

If you take the Metro and the Bus, you'll reach your destination much faster but you'll miss most of these gems - as you'll pass by most of them without even noticing.

I've found this Endless Staircase when I was walking near the Bavaria Park, where Oktoberfest takes place every year.

This piece - by the Danish artist Olafur Eliasson - is located in front of an office building, and it certainly grabs the attention of any passerby.

The original name of this sculpture is Umschreibung, which means Circumscription. Naturally, the locals found a more suiting name for the piece. I agree with them, I think Endless Staircase is a much better name.

Unfortunately, it is not permitted for visitors to walk on it.

I would have enjoyed walking it at least once. Oh well, I must stick to taking photos and imagining how it feels to walk forever and ever on the same staircase. Must be a good exercise for the accountants working on that building.
