🎨 Art you different? - The time is now :-)steemCreated with Sketch.

We live in exciting times and its almost impossible, to keep up with all the new discoveries and inventions. For me as an artist, the digital world is particularly interesting for both, new ways to create, abut also to present my work in new ways online.

But there are also some very interesting new developments for art collectors. I have built a decent collection of traditional art over the years, with originals from artists like @gric and @leoplaw, as well as limited edition prints like my personal tarot card, I recently purchased from @anibas.

@twirble is a young artist from the United States, new on my radar. Her work is very original and authentic and she is quite innovative in using today's technology. She is the one who turned me on to makersplace and I am fascinated by her virtual gallery spaces.

A little while ago, I got my first piece of rare digital art. "Bob", by Dania Strong (AKA Twirble)

The price of only 0.1 ETH made it so attractive, that I just couldn't resist to give this a try. And I love my Bob! Here is the proof of ownership, one gets with the purchase through makersplace:

At the same time I thought, it would be an interesting project, to start my own store The crew behind MakersPlace is extremely fit and passionate, and whenever I had a problem with something, I got help in no time. They are constantly improving their site and are a real dream to work with.

Originally, all the crypto art I saw so far for sale was only available for ETH, which makes sense, as the art you buy is tied to a smart contract in the Ethereum network. But not everyone feels comfortable setting up a wallet. The nice thing at makersplace is, that you can also make your purchase with a credit card!

The advantage with ETH is, that it is really cheap at the moment! Although it is already recovering again, the rate is lower than it has been in a long time. One of the reasons, why I had to get a little @svdsdragunov right away:

Ok, we are not talking about excessive amounts of money here, but I am thrilled with this new way of collecting art and remember, there was a time, when someone paid 10,000.- Bitcoin for a pizza!

If you want to take advantage of the low ETH price to start your collection of rare digital art, its quite easy! All you have to do, is to get an Ethereum address. I use the metamask extension, which is available for both Firefox and Chrome browsers. On an exchange I bought some ETH and sent it to my metamask Ethereum address and can now use it to buy limited edition digital art :-)

To find my makersplace store you could go to https://makersplace.com/store/reinhardschmid/ or simply click on the image below:

The previews in the store are cropped to fit a square. Please click on the pictures there, to see them in their full aspect ratio.

The first 3 colletors to buy any of my limited edition digital art on makersplace, get a free sunsine*

*original picture is 617x617px, number of piece will obviously be different than the one currently for sale in my store, as each number is unique. At this time I can only send you the token to an ethereum address, but the makersplace team is working on a way to download the connected image by the owner

Just in case its necessary: I am in no way giving financial advice. I'm just telling my story and show you a way to start your own collection, should you have the wish to do so.

I enjoy reading your comments!

Thank you for being here for me, so I can be here for you.
Enjoy your day and stay creative!
Botty loves you. <3

I also found out about Makers place, but I think from you? I only put up one little thing and I keep meaning to go back and set up my profile and shop better. Oh heavens , this is a busy time of the year!

I love the digital world for we artists, it's great for tools to make and hopefully to sell more :) I'm definitely getting a @reinhard-schmid piece digitally, I just have to get my schedule together and catch up! :)

Dear Artzonian, thanks for using the #ArtzOne hashtag. Your work is valuable to the @ArtzOne community. Quote of the week: Art, freedom and creativity will change society faster than politics. -Victor Pinchuk

Very interesting initiative.

beautiful and unique art friend...
amazing collection..

Phh, thank you for name dropping me! For me is an honor to have one of my things owned by you! Salute!

I love it! It will be interesting in a few years, to actually be one of the first history, to own art this way :-)

This looks very interesting but bit confusing for me..are we selling here files for download or we are sending prints? Trying to find those answers on site but ..Looks good for sure @reinhard-schmid.

Nothing physical is being exchanged. You sell a file, which is unique and identifiable by a smart contract. So far, you can only get on board as an artist with Makersplace by invitation. Once they create your "space", you just use the tools they supply to create your files... its not that hard :-)

Well that sounds great, I will send my application to them since I saw some info about it and than wait. Thank you for sharing another great staff with us, and soon everything becomes ok, hope I will be able to have some @reinhard-schmid for myself :))))

Oh great! You're also on there!
Like I just commented on @sanderjansenart, I find the concept hard to grasp especially to set the prices but it is super interesting!

I just hope that they'll try to implement a way to have some sort of preview mode before a final publishing. They argue that it is inherent to blockchain and it is true but Steemit do allow edits so ...

Let's see how this goes!
