"Snitchricate" | Gallery: Motifs
As such, I was in a hurry. Remember that in Inktober, the challenge is to create one piece of art (traditionally a drawing) every day for the whole month of October.
So I took "Rosa"'s formulae and tweaked them for about an hour before having to get something rendered before the end of the day. All in all, it came out okay. Looking at it now, actually, I like it better than I did on the day =)

“The Golden Snitch is walnut-sized, as was the Golden Snidget. It is bewitched to evade capture as long as possible. There is a tale that a Golden Snitch evaded capture for six months on Bodmin Moor in 1884, both teams finally giving up in disgust at their Seekers' poor performances. Cornish wizards familiar with the area insist to this day that the Snitch is still living wild on the moor, though I have not been able to confirm this story.”

The creation process:
As I said, I took "Rosa"'s formulae and reset them. I then tweaked the parameters of each formulae for about an hour, not sure of what I was looking for...:
But of course, eventually, what I was looking for found me instead. It's this way for most artists, but it is even truer when dealing with near esoteric formulae that you don't fully understand:
A few more colour tweaks, within JWildFire as well as in Photoshop, and it was done =)
Any Harry Potter fans amongst you? ^^

Great art my friend. I will also try this formula.
Thank you =) .. Please so show me your results once you're done ^^
Complete Potterhead here ! Although I must say I'm not sure I see the golden snitch.
But I love it I was immediately drawn to it. To me I think it looks like something that could be on the ceiling of a magnificent Roman dome. It looks like mosaic, marble and gold and it's just stunning.
Thank you!! ^^ ... Yeah, I didn't really explain about the golden snitch part in the post... It is meant to be a kind of visual representation for the spells and charms needed to make the snitch work =)
You have received an upvote from @slothicorn! Neigh neigh.
I LOVE it. Grew up with Harry Potter and I have no shame in disclosing that I would still resort to cuddle with a book if I'm feeling a bit down. This one definitely conveys an element of magic what with the golden and black swirls.
I just checked out Rosa as well and I have to say that I'm a fan! I've never heard of JWildFire. Is all of this modelled on it?
Thanks! ^^ Indeed, nothing beats a book when you don't feel like dealing with this reality ;P ... I'm reading David Copperfield now, by Dickens. Loving it so far.
Yes, both were made in JWildFire =) It'd free if you want to give it a go... Learning curve is quite steep but often just tweaking dials to see what they do can produce surprisingly pretty results ^^
David Copperfield is a great classic! It's been a reallly really long time since I read it, though. Need to pick it up again. The worst thing about constantly moving is that you can't take all your books with you everywhere. The one thing I'd like about 'settling down' in a place is that I can move all my books into one place. I now have to wait til I go back to my parents' to find Copperfield. Sigh.
I've downloaded JWildFire. It's a bit overwhelming!
Don't get me started with books and moving! When I moved to Brazil, I left most of them behind (not to mention almost everything else of mine ;P). But I'm slowly building my collection up again =)
Yeah, JWildFire and my other favourite, Mandelbulb 3D, can be frustrating at first... But so worth it in the end ^^
Oooh, what are you doing in Brazil? Yeah, i know the feeling of leaving almoar everything behind. I got tired of it. So for two years, I tried to live life so all my stuff could fit into one suitcase and I would never buy stuff that would exceed this limit. Books always get the better me.
