Hacks To Draw An Eye!

Eyes are difficult to draw for most people.I"ll break it down to make it easy!
Drawing eyes takes practice! Eyes have always been one of my favorite things to draw!

The picture above is after years of practice! you can get to this point too :) Today I'll teach you how to draw a more simple eye.
and I figured I'd do my own. Everyone has a different art style. Eyes can be drawn a wide variety of ways too!

So Start by drawing the top of the eyelid.

It's just a rough draft at first, use light pencil strokes to create the desired shape of your eye.

Draw the bottom eyelid

But do this more lightly.
Because of that "ledge" we have in our eye it's easy to overdo the bottom lid, And make a less natural appearance.

Add The Basic Pupil Shape

This is still a somewhat rough outline, But be careful with it.

Add the crease in next to the eye

This might be soemthing you'll want to practice! You can make the eyes look more sleepy or awake by the placement of this!

Add the basic eyebrow shape, Along with the "highlight" Areas

Darken the pupil

You want to make the pupil nice and dark. Shade it lik you would a sphere in art class, Make one area really dark and gradually lighten it. As you can see I do here.

Start with the Eyelashes

Start adding the eyelashes with a sharp somewhat dark pencil, Like a 2b, Make sure to "curve" each lash, Do not draw it straight out.
Make them darker, To emphasize them.

Add the Lashes to the bottom lid

DO NOT OVERWORK IT!
Be gentle don't add too many.

Start working in the eyebrow

Gently do hard to light strokes on each hair. Slowly building up the eye.Use a 2b pencil if you have one

carefully outline the pupil more,

Lightly deepen shades if needed.

Add Shade to the pupil

Start at the outer edge, And similar to like shading a pumkin, Do hard strokes that go "into" the eye, But lighten your pressure as you get closer to the pupil. Similar to drawing a har.

Gently outline the "ledge" of the eye

Be very gentle and accurate. Overworking this area will cause problems.

Your Rough eye is done

Want a softer appearance? you can use a pencil like a 4H to gradually soften it, Or you can use a paperstump or even a small piece of toliet paper on your finger to gently smear it together.

Your eye is done!##
