Art - Avengers Assemble!! - The final poster! -
Hey Steemerssss!
I hope you are doing fine?..
If you have followed my blog this past week you might have noticed I've been posting these
'Avengers' portraits.
It is in a style I'm a bit new at, but I really enjoy this kind of stuff,, so expect more of this kind of work in the near future..
Anyway, the biggest reason I have been making these portraits (and now poster) is because I'm trying to go to SDCC (San Diego Comic Con).
The SDCC is in July and it will cost alot of money for me to get there (I'm in The Netherlands).
I was lucky enough to be selected to get a table in the Artist Alley, but the trip and hotel are of course not included!
This will run into the thousands of dollars... YIKES!
One of the ways for me to get some extra cash to pay for the trip will be Steem.. And hopefully, be able to sell some of these portrait prints/poster to be able to fund the trip and be able to live that awesome experience! :)

Here is the full poster!
As I'm writing this post the poster and all the individual portrait pieces are at the printshop being printed on an awesome soft and textured type of paper.. It's quite expensive to get these printed but having these on such high quality paper will probably do good to the art on it ;)
When the poster and prints come back from the printshop I'll shoot some photos (if they look as good as i hope! :'D)
-- These will be limited edition prints, signed and numbered! 25 of each individual, and 50 posters.
I will offer them up for sale on the upcoming 'Dutch Comic Con' in Utrecht 31st of March & 1st of April!
But before that.. You will be able to reserve your number/prints if you are interested!

The prices for the A4 portraits will be 25$ each.
The 42x60cm poster will be 50$ each.

These posters are incredible. I bet they will sell in no time. San Diego Comic Con is on my bucket list. I hope you will get there. I hear it is very crowded with long queues for the panels but want to experience it one day but this year watching all on youtube again.

I hope they sell alright,, Im not too convinced yet.. I applied for a licence from Marvel.. I heared SDCC is very strict when it comes to copyrighted artwork .. So i dont know how it;ll go o.O

So is the look you are going for a classic comic book art look while pulling the current movie style characters? That is what these feel like to me. Like I could be flipping the pages of a golden era comic but seeing the current movie look each character has.
Anyways I like them a lot. Any idea how crazy shipping to the US would be on a poster?
Thank you @thedarkhorse that is exactly what I was trying to do.. Take the current movie characters, look at the original comics and see if i could make a mix of the two and style them in a very modern way (drawing-wise) but still use old looking colors and paper ;D
Shipping them to the US isn't too expensive. About 15 to 20$ I think.
I'm going to have to see how things go this next week. My Wife's Grandma has had 3 strokes in the last couple days and it isn't looking good. We are likely going to need to take an unplanned trip out of state for a few days. Travel, Hotel, eating out and everything just adds up with 4 people. Would love to buy one for each of my girls if money allows for it.

Like what you did a lot. Not something you see everyday and I do comic shows so see a lot of art. Most artists seem to be going for more dramatic effect and this twist towards a more simple time makes it really stand out to me. Have been following you for a while now and you do a great work.
I'll see how it goes. Have a couple shows myself coming up and if they are better then expected that could change things too. But you know how that can be, so hit or miss.
As for Grandma, I don't think she is going home this time. She has had a number of mini stokes over the last few years and been in & out of the hospital. This time it's been 3 full blown strokes in a matter of less then 3 days. She currently has no use of the left side of her body. At 91 years old the odds of making a recovery is fairly slim. Then again she has proven the doctors wrong a few times over and just maybe she is stubborn enough to keep living even with all the damage that has been done to her heart and brain...just doesn't look good.

We'll see.. really looking forward to get physical copies and see how they are.. I really spend time on getting it on the right paper :O

If you are that old and suffer that much :( It is sad.. hopefully she finds peace soon, either by healing or.. :(

See now you mention getting the right paper and I'm even more interested...lol. To many just get the glossy stark white paper without thought to what they are printing on it because it's what every printer has. Make sure to post some photos once you get one!
Thanks for your well wishes. Honestly the "or" might be her best option at this point based on what the doctors are saying about what her future would look like. I can't say that to my Wife, but it's just a fact. No way I want to live in the condition she will be in.
And good luck you you at the shows. Hope that others see what I do in your new designs.
The paper is Tintoretto Gesso .. is has a texture and is really thick, the color will slightly less saturated but it will totally boost that older classical look i think :o
Getting it printed on this stuff was quite the job itself.. hard to find printshops that use it :D
