After the Flood
After the flood, 2018.
Oil, oil pastel and acrilic on canvas
50 cm X 40 cm
This is a continuation of the research described in the previous post.
Process of painting:
After all I decided to ‘crash’ the painting and start it again.
I restarted it in the same way as in the beginning, just now I used yellow as a base instead of blue. Yellow didn’t cover canvas completely, there are some small fields of color from previous steps remaining visible.
The colors I have used this time make a completely different impression than those from the first steps. Instead of a blue-red contrast, I arranged the yellow-green-purple, than slowly adding other colors.
The composition eventually has less dynamic impression than those one from the first phase of this work, described in the previous post, but is much brighter, more open colors, making me more satisfied with this work.
The surface remained pretty rough, which can be seen in the following details:

wow remember my comment about the brown? i actually like this one the best !
I'm really grateful to your comments. You're so honestly. I appreciated it, it is very rare! <3
You're right, that was good step. There was a period of time when I was investigating fields of colors, domination of one color over painting. In that time I would leave painting this way.
Although this step seems simple and almost one color, there is some fullness achieved, and that's why it could be the finish. It is not easy at all to make a painting, a good one, in almost one field color, although some inexperienced eye might seem that easy and meaningless...
:) Do you like that honey ochre color?
