The Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, in Vienna

in #architecturalphotography5 years ago (edited)

Whether its in their own country or in foreign lands, the Russians really love to show off their architecture skills. Here's the lovely crafted Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, in Vienna, a perfect example of this display of wonderfulness.

The building is so beautiful you completely ignore the rest of the neighbourhood.

The Cathedral is as beautiful on the inside as it is outside. But, as its so common on these religious places, no photos are allowed.

The construction is absolutely flawless and I'm sure this building will still be around for centuries to come, unless humanity enters another mad world war and bombs it to dust, as it has been doing all over the Middle East.

For example, there were magnificent monuments in Syria that were recently destroyed, as a consequence from the invasion of the Zionist Empire.

In Europe, we're still somewhat safe from all this madness... and we're really lucky to be able to appreciate such gorgeous pieces of architecture.

However, as History is our guide, we are never truly safe. History tends to repeat itself, specially when the majority of voters become too complacent. Be careful with who you vote for, because the two-faced politicians who are in control of the US and Europe are the same bandits responsible for the destruction of the Middle East.

If you ever go to Vienna, take a small detour and look around for this building, located halfway between the Modenapark and the Belvedere Palace. It's only a 5 minute walk or so.

When I'm travelling, I try to avoid using too many public transports and I prefer to walk... I love the surprise of walking randomly without destination and discovering whatever comes my way.

What about you? Do you usually walk without a set destination or are you one of those extremely organised travellers who have a plan and follow it to the tick?

As a muslim.. I always need time to recognize the russian churches and the mosques 😁 if... if I don't check the top of the dome or minarets, whether iit's a cross (church) or a moon and star shape (mosque or masjid)

I don't think you will find any russian church in Indonesia, because people will throw their tantrums and destroy it because of their limited knowledge about the architecture or culture building.

The church is a wonderful building, thanks for sharing. Beside the dome.. the colour of the building make it different from other churches.

That's so weird... thanks for your great comment. Here's a little bit of !BEER for you. 🍺

O ser humano é mesmo um bicho antagônico... assim como constrói, destrói... Btw, excelente arquitetura e descrição. Abraço
