It began, in 537 AD, as an Eastern Orthodox Cathedral, until Crusaders converted it to a Roman Catholic Cathedral, and then converted it again into an Ottoman mosque, and finally into a museum today.

In this massive building, with all of its ancient history and amazing architecture, lives a cat. I simple little grey one of Turkish persuasion. As I watched this scrum of humans squat and lean, I wondered about the life of this little fellow. What does he make of the hordes? What does he do when no ones around? Does someone care for him? Or does he stalk these cavernous halls at night and hunt to survive?

And how many others have come before him?
