The bandstand of Campo de São Francisco, in Ponta Delgada city and has been a constant presence in the life of the population since 1871.
“The history of the bandstand of the Campo de S. Francisco is, to this day, told to the sound of the philharmonic, or were the Azores the Portuguese region with more philharmonic bands. The first building, inaugurated in May 1871, was of wood, with a lacy design, surrounded by a small lake. Offered by the people to the city, it was practically destroyed in 1957, when a rocket fell in the dome and the fire propagated to the paper flowers that decorated all the space where the bandstand is”.
