Architecturalphotography - Roman Gate in Carnuntum
When i visited the meeting of the naturephotographers in Lower Austria, i also visited the Roman Gate in Carnuntum for some photography. Because of the lack of clouds in the sky i didn't do a longtime exposure shot of the sceen but only some snap shots of the scene. The Roman gate is a ruin from the ancient Roman City Carnuntum where about 50.000 people lived. This was a very big number in these times.

I find it very interesting that you can still find such old buildings intact and not destroyed for such a long period of time. The new village Petronell Carnuntum is only built partly over the old ancient city so a lot of the original space should be intact and that why this place is also very interesting for exvacation research.
