A hapless, hapless happening brought me back to where I spent my childhood. A walk on the paths of memories!

This place is very far from where I live now and that's why I rarely get there. The place is in northern Romania, closer to the cold Russia than to Bucharest, the city where I live now.

The city is very small and the neighborhood where my mother's home is is even smaller.

In spite of all this, a rather harsh winter wrapped it all in white. Winter hard enough to make it difficult to return home tomorrow morning.

I took a short walk from the village church (yes, this neighborhood is practically a small village with houses scattered among the small hills).

In this cemetery there are many of my childhood relatives and friends if I realize I left these places for over fifty-five years.

I don't want to sad anyone, I still want to start somewhere.

Before showing you a little of my walk, I invite you to listen to a Romanian song. The song is a patriotic one, it's very old and it's about more than a hundred years old when this region was occupied by the Habsburg Empire, and the men were enforced by the Imperial army.

The walk follows the former school where I learned to write and read ... now left and degraded.

The small and slope streets that I used to play with my friends.

Although most homes have been rebuilt and renovated all these years, I search all the old ones besides my childhood, those houses where my playmates lived, my schoolmates.

It was a #beautifulsunday because at every step of the walk I had a memory. A memory of a beautiful childhood!

However, something more than just a walk has happened. I went with my brother and his children to a mountain village about 30 km from the house. I went to meet a very dear person to me and my wife. An Orthodox Christian priest who is a friend and our confessor.

He is a gentle and good man, a professor of religion and he is ... shy. He doesn't like being photographed.

One of the Romanian customs is to offer a meal in memory of the dead. There is a special room in the churches for these commemorations. I participated in this day.

Generally, these foods are offered to the poor and therefore have always been well received.

These places and constructions are due to our confessor, Father Radu! There are several pictures of his church on the edge of the forest.

The meeting with Father Radu always makes the day sublime. Now it was a #sublimesunday!
