Animal Photo - Baby's Love
Today's photo is "Baby's Love".
This photo was taken a couple of years ago of my miniature horse foal. This photo was taken two days after she was born. The photo shows how pure a baby's love is from the start. Just like all creatures, babies need their mother to feel safe and secure.

Miniture Horse Facts
- First bred in Europe in the 1600s. They were originally pets for nobility and used in coal mines.
- Today miniature horses are found all over the world but are most prevalent in the US and Europe.
- Miniature horses share all the same characteristics as large horses, except they are much smaller.
- To be considered a miniature horse, it needs to measure 38 inches or less in hight.
- Miniature horses are often used as service animals, like service dogs.
- Miniature horses are not for riding due to their size. They are good at pulling small wagons and buggies.
- Miniature horse foals weigh between 12 to 25 pounds and are generally 15 to 22 inches tall at birth.
- At a year old, a miniature horse will be at about 90% of its adult height.
- A miniature horse can live up to 25 - 30 years.
