[Blog #29] Happy Sunday | 40 km | MTB Back On Track

in #actifit6 years ago (edited)

Hooray Readers! Finally on the MTB again after a rainy July. August will be epic and soon you'll see me on video.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees, finally a day of sun, dear readers - a beautiful, glorious and sexy blue sky! July was remarkably the rainiest month this winter. That didn't stop us from cycling and studying photography, but come on... sometimes you just wish badly for some sun. Today was the case.

I woke up early with a ton of work to do and more than 20 posts to read and select for @cyclefeed - a task shared with my friend @robmolecule, but still, it's a lot of work. This is the thing when you work from home; time passes, and it passes FAST. Soon it was time for lunch, so I prepared my bicycle, packed the camera, tripod and some fruits - ready to go!

Plans for today didn't include cycling to beat my own records, nor could I honestly, after spending some days without cycling I'd better take it easy. I wanted to go to the hidden forest to try to record some vlogs again, which I did. Hopefully I won't delete the video later when I see myself on the screen and decide that I'm not cool enough for vlogs, Haha.

Anyway, I spent some quality time at the forest wandering around and recording stuff, that I forgot to take a picture for the thumbnail. I'll have to leave you with this old one wearing my ultra master blaster mustache. Pa dum Tss.

Hello ladies.

After I finished with the random recordings my stomach was finally screaming for a Shrimp Pastel at the beach. Pack everything, protect the camera, grab the bike - that's how it is, you can't stop moving on such a beautiful day.

The beach was full! Packed with cars, whom I gladly overpassed using my bike exclusive lane - I can't understand people, they were driving slower than I was on my bicycle, why can't they simply switch to cycling instead of poluting the atmosphere? Then they'll blame even the dog for the price of gas.

I was surprised to see that there was some sort of festival going on, which I discovered was the classic brazilian  feast of Saint John (I don't know if exists outside of Brazil). It is a traditional feast that was supposed to happen in July, but the rain didn't cease, postponing the feast to August. It features music, culinary, dance - the kids love it.

This is when this animal who writes for you forgot to charge the DSLR's battery. I took it of the backpack, openned the tripod, set everything like a champion photographer (Pfffff). Turned the camera on and... aaaaaand... noup. It was not going to work due to low battery. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese. What a shame to pack everything back inside my backpack, leaving everyone thinking that I was just a big troll.

Here are some photos taken with my 'potato' phone.

I don't know the translation for 'Arraial'.

This guys were playing some nice traditional songs - acoordeon, acustic guitar and drums. Not my style of music but they sure were great players. The kids were dancing all over the place.

Lovely sound by this guys.

The beach was so crowded that I had no chance to take my classic beach photo

No way to feature the pier properly.

I found one of my students there whom I spent some time having a chat with, cool dude. I managed to convince him into creating a Steemit account, but he hasn't posted yet. Maybe soon if I keep on trying...

My day concluded having a chat with some cool chilean guys who are travelling in a VW Kombi, also known as VW Bus. I exchanged numbers so I can explain them about Steemit, I'd love to see their amazing trip featured here; they are travelling all over Brazil in the old VW, main plan is to drive all the way up to Mexico!

I'm sorry for this rushed post and the lack of pictures; if you allow me some excuses, it's all because I got home as hungry as a Himalayan Badger after sleeping all winter. I still have to upload Cycle Feed's weekly round up and cook some proper meal. Loooooooooove you!

Obs.: If I feel brave enough you'll soon see me on video, let's hope. Hah.

Juicy info for bike Geeks

Moooooonstros, valeu!

Oooh a vlog. Even that word intimidates me. Be brave, you can do it! I definitely can't though :)

Heeeyho @ginnyannette, isn't it terrifying? But it's just a matter of adapting I guess, if you like to talk to yourself alone you'll pretty much be able to vlog hahahaha

Thanks for passing by

That part when you were setting everything then try to open the camera and it wouldn't work, really made me laugh. 😀
And I know the feeling of wanting some sun, not only rainy periods which even if they don't stop you, it's still something that exhausts you. At least this is how I feel after two weeks traveling only when it was raining, like even if now it's sunny and perfect weather, I want only to sleep and recharge my batteries lol.
Now about the vlog, I know how hard is it as when I'm recording my travels I'm getting stuck in a few moments when I try to turn the camera on me and not on my feets walking or the other landscapes. But I would happily watch your vlogs, I know it's not easy at the beginning. 😊

That's the feeling @gabrielatravels, after a month of rain it indeed feels exhausting, maybe it's due to lack of vitamin D - mind and body suffer. Just need to go though it as it doesn't last for ever. Unless you are in Patagonia, then yes hahahahaha

I'm editing the vlogs now, I'm quite liking it now. The first day i could barely talk in front of the camera, but it's getting more natural now.

Thanks for the awesome comment, love ya
