I recently wrote a post in response to Michelle wolf's salute to abortion. Where I point out how the promotion of 'casual' abortion was damaging to societal views of life and it's effects to our population. You can check out that post in its entirety here

Now, the reason why I'm writing this post today, is because of recent news. Yet another province of Canada has decided to cover the chemical cocktail that is the abortion pill 'Mifegymiso'

The risks of using mifegymiso (abortion pill RU-486)

This pill isn't cheap ($300-$400). How much will the long term cost us, when women start using this FREE pill like it were birth control. Not to mention the costs to the health care system from all the adverse reactions that will inevitably ensue.

I made these points on steep decline of our birthrate in Canada in a few of my posts about depopulation. And this post is no exception.

In order to be able to keep our society going. The birthrate needs to be 2.1 or over to continue

As you see in the graph above, only one province is above 2.1 and the rest of Canada has fallen beneath it.

Our immigration minister doesn't seem to think this is going to change and has come out to boldly proclaim that 100% of Canada's population growth will come by immigration by the year 2036.

"So far, the prophets of overpopulation have been defeated by technology. But human ingenuity alone can never deliver a final victory in the battle to feed the world -- eventually, population growth will overwhelm the Earth’s ability to provide calories. That’s why in order to put Malthus and Ehrlich finally to rest, a second component is needed -- lower fertility rates. To save both the environment and themselves, humans must have fewer kids.

Fortunately, this is happening. During the lifetimes of Malthus and Ehrlich, humans still tended to have large families, with each woman bearing an average of five children over her lifetime. But shortly after Ehrlich’s book, that began to change:" Source
