It's Ladder Time!

You get a unique perspective from the top of a ladder. I am all about sharing my unique perspective and aggrandizing my mundane life for the amusement of others. Thus, Oh the Ladder's You Will Climb was born some months ago. Since then, it has evolved to stunt photography, silly stories of the crazy places I get to install internet, and the beer it drives me to drink.

Without further adieu, here is another couple weeks of ladders in the beautiful months of summer.

Here is my trusty sidekick that gets me up to where I need to be to do what I gotta do. People are amazed when it emerges from my little sport utility car and extends up to 18 feet high. Best $180 I ever spent.

This was a neat one because the name on the order was that of a Blue belt I train with in BJJ. "Oh! You do that?" was his reaction when I called to book his appointment. Great house and great guy and he even poured me a beer while I was getting things finished. It is the special simple moments in life.

This was an interesting one. Far edge of town, industrial area, in an awful lime green tin can of a warehouse. For years, it was the Habitat for Humanity location which is basically where you do donate all of your old cabinets and doors and unwanted household items to be refurbished and sold to lower income folks and raise money for charity. "What kind of business are you opening?" I ask. "No Business. Home" the Vietnamese (?) looking guy says and I ask no more questions and get it all set up for them.

This is the view from the third floor of a standard apartment building pretty close to the center of town. So many damn trees in our town which makes it so nice for the air quality and view but shitty for trying to set up wireless internet! Nice couple new in from town and he is going to be a teacher in this area. Maybe teach my kids at some point? Anyhow, he is connected to the WWW and good to go.

Here is another view from the same place but looking down to give the heights fearers the heebie-jeebies. It was a hot one and I call the shots on dress code so it was a shorts day.

This was one from today. Nice nurse new to town also in a place about a mile from the last one. Cute little bungalow I looked at a few years ago when I moved to town so I got right up on the roof and yelled "I AM THE KING OF THE WORLD!!!!" while shooting this panorama at 7:30AM.

Well, all that hard work and peril and this superhero deserves a beer. This one was as colourful and refreshing as the label looked. Lighter on the hops and the alcohol than my regular IPA but I am enjoying them this way this summer for whatever reason. Not that I drink more of them in a sitting, I guess I am impressed with the bold taste without having to sugar the shit out of them to get them to 6+% alcohol.

It might be a couple weeks before the next ladders post as I am camping all next week, and have a regatta and family golf tourney on either side of that week so the internet can wait.

Thanks for holding the ladder for me again!

Sort:

I usually work in the office ... but more recently I have had to go out on the field to provide some bids .... I wish my views were as good .... I usually deal with apartments and basements ... that are usually in pretty bad conodition..... I have told the field guys they are no longer allowed to text me pics from the field ... only email ... this way I don’t get surprised with a gross pic text . Lol

Haha that is a good strategy.

If I didn't have a guilty conscience about posting pics of other people's business, I could show you some really gross pics!

Goes with the territory I guess.

Ohhh I know ... I can only imagine .... it gets pretty gross .
