Interesting data, believe it or not! Only in Venezuela.

in #blog6 years ago (edited)

Stemians, today we are going to know a little more about Venezuela, the country where I was born. It is public and notorious that my curiosity is insatiable, I always want to learn more. I recently notice that there are places with fascinating stories; one thing led to another.

I asked myself, what is Venezuela fascinating? The answer is not his landscapes or his women as everyone says. It's as like that's the only thing this nation has to offer.

This publication is intended to make value your own things. It is not justifiable that love you’re your nation is triggered only when you leave it and are outside of it.

If I had to bet, I would bet that few are those who know these interesting facts about Venezuela. We always compare “cool things" (”Cosas pavas” as we say here to refer to something very good) with respect to other countries, ignoring that here we have potentialities that stand out, as well as in the great countries with which people always compare Venezuela.

parque_taima.jpg

“Parque arqueológico Taima Taima”.

This information I knew by an acquaintance who lived in Falcón State, in the city of Coro. Whenever he came to visit the city of Barquisimeto, he told us interesting stories. One of those stories was the one I liked the most, the Taima Taima archaeological and paleontological national park… Says:

In that area were obtained dismembered remains of mammoths, which suggests that there was presence of human life. Remains of points of the typical prehistoric spears were obtained there too. But the interesting thing is that the remains date back thousands of millions of years that could demolish the theory that man came to this continent in the north (Bering Strait). The area was apparently crossed by a river, it was in that place where they cleaned the animals after hunting them

Words more or less, that's the way the story were told to me that day

Yes men our paths were inhabited by the animals that dominated the earth about 14 thousand years ago and also "man".

Located 20 kilometers from the city of Coro, specifically in the “El Molino sector of the Colina” municipality of “Falcón” state. In this area bone remains of a mastodon have been found together with a giant armadillo, sloth, horse, turtle, llama and short-nosed bear

Unfortunately at present the park is in total abandonment. A pity that you lose these spaces with the passing of the years.

How much did you know about this park?

Virgen de la paz

Monumento a la Paz, bigger than the Statue of Liberty and El Cristo Redentor.

I must admit that I have never been to this place; The only thing I knew so far, is that it is located in the Trujillo State. And what is it called? La virgen de la paz.
I will not lie to you, this information I knew it before making this publication. I learned one day listening to the radio where they reported the construction of a religious work in Lara State, which would beat world records, the name of the work is El Mantto de María. Those in charge of the radio program discussed about the great monuments that already exist in the world, not only the religious ones.

During the course of the program, one of the guests took the floor and mentioned that this was not the first major work of world scale. That they already had La virgen de la paz. He mentioned that the structure was larger than the very statue of liberty in the United States and that it even outnumbered El Cristo Redentor in Brazil.

To make this post look up the respective data and in effect. La Virgen de la paz measures 46.72 meters in height, exceeds by centimeters the Statue of Liberty (46.05 meters from the torch to the base) and likewise the Cristo Redentor (30.1 meters) in Brazil, exceeds it by meters Data extracted from Wikipedia

Dr. Humberto Fernández

Meet Dr. Humberto Fernández Moran (February 18, 1924-March 17, 1999)

I'm surprised with everything I just discovered about this man. While I was doing the research to bring you accurate data from Venezuela, I got this character, earning a place here, for all his contributions in the fields of physics and biology. Dr. Humberto was a Venezuelan doctor and scientist, originally from Zulia State. I fall short of what is left to be said about this man. It turns out that Dr. Humberto was the creator of various instruments that revolutionized the way to apply medical procedures

Among his contributions are:

  1. The diamond tipped scalpel, also contributed to the development of the electron microscope and was the first person to introduce the concept of crioultramicrotomy.

  2. He worked in the area of electronic cryosmicroscopy
, en el uso de lentes superconductores y helio líquido en los microscopios electrónicos. Ayudó en la mejora de los ultramicrotomos. Extracted data.
I was more impressed to know that a subject with such a memorable trajectory was forgotten by all, I am sure that you, now that you know a bit, will have the same opinion. They never taught me anything about him in school. Maybe history buried him in the past. But now it can be revived. No doubt a Venezuelan with impressive achievements that I'm sure you did not know until now.
