Imran Awan's Secret Server a Massive Breach of Congressional Data

in #spy-ring7 years ago (edited)

The story that DC officials and the msm are desperately trying to ignore, evidence of a spy ring in congress, is growing by the day.

“For members to say their data was not compromised is simply inaccurate. They had access to all the data including all emails. Imran Awan is the walking example of an insider threat, a criminal actor who had access to everything,” the senior official said.

The story revolves around Imran Awan, the former IT staffer of Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schultz who was recently indicted on charges of bank fraud and attempted to flee the country. The first to report on this story was the Daily Caller's Luke Rosiak who continues to be one of the very few reporters investigating the story. In his latest piece, Rosiak reveals what many have suspected for months, that the Imran Awan bank fraud case pales in comparison to much greater crimes that may have been committed by the IT staffer.

The Secret Server

Imran Awan was banned from congress by the DC capitol police in late 2016 after a laptop was discovered in the Rayburn Building that initiated an investigation into his activities. Now, it is finally being acknowledged that Imran was running a secret server used to funnel a tremendous amount of data from congressional members.

A secret server is behind law enforcement’s decision to ban a former IT aide to Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz from the House network.

Now-indicted former congressional IT aide Imran Awan allegedly routed data from numerous House Democrats to a secret server. Police grew suspicious and requested a copy of the server early this year, but they were provided with an elaborate falsified image designed to hide the massive violations. The falsified image is what ultimately triggered their ban from the House network Feb. 2, according to a senior House official with direct knowledge of the investigation.

The secret server was connected to the House Democratic Caucus, an organization chaired by then-Rep. Xavier Becerra. Police informed Becerra that the server was the subject of an investigation and requested a copy of it. Authorities considered the false image they received to be interference in a criminal investigation, the senior official said.

Rosiak also conveyed the new revelations in a series of tweets

Furthermore, according to Rosiak's source, "huge quantities" of data were backed up using Dropbox even though the use of the popular file sharing service is strictly forbidden for members of congress and their staffs. It is believed that Awan used an unofficial congressional account to transfer the data.

A disturbing aspect of the case is that Imran Awan has been employed in congress since 2004. In fact, one of the first congressional members to hire Awan was Democratic congressman Xavier Becerra. Andre Carson and DWS are two other prominent members who Imran has worked for, however, it is believed that Imran has worked for anywhere between 45-80 congressional members over the years, possibly more.

Citizen journalist George Webb has theorized that Imran Awan supplied hacked Blackberry phones to members of congress to collect data and obtain sensitive information. Members who were part of influential committees were specifically targeted, specifically DHS, Foreign affairs, and House Select Intelligence Committee.

Long serving congressman Xavier Becerra is no longer in the House leaving earlier this year also vacated his position as DNC Caucus Chair.

On Jan. 24, 2017, Becerra vacated his congressional seat to become California’s attorney general. “He wanted to wipe his server, and we brought to his attention it was under investigation. The light-off was we asked for an image of the server, and they deliberately turned over a fake server,” the senior official said.

“They were using the House Democratic Caucus as their central service warehouse … It was a breach. The data was completely out of [the members’] possession. Does it mean it was sold to the Russians? I don’t know,” the senior official said.

Capitol Police considered the image a sign that the Awans knew exactly what they were doing and were going to great lengths to try to cover it up, the senior official said. The House Sergeant-at-Arms banned them from the network as a result.

Those who have dismissed the Awan brothers case as a wild conspiracy theory often argue that if there was such an deep penetration into the US congress by a spy ring, how come no one is coming forward? The answer to this question is quite simple, people fear the Awans and the vast amounts of data is sure to include improprieties and compromising information that could be used for blackmail.

Awan had access to all emails and office computer files of 45 members of Congress who are listed below. Fear among members that Awan could release embarrassing information if they cooperated with prosecutors could explain why the Democrats have refused to acknowledge the cybersecurity breach publicly or criticize the suspects.

Despite the growing evidence that the bank fraud case against Imran Awan is something much bigger, the judge and even the prosecution in the case seem determined to prevent anything beyond bank fraud case from being entered into the court proceedings.

There's already a profusion of evidence being assembled and more is being revealed on a daily basis. Some say that this is the Watergate of our times but in reality it appears to be something far beyond Watergate or Iran-Contra.

...more to come.

Timeline

Since the msm refuses to investigate the spy-ring in congress, though they spent months pushing the false narrative that Russia hacked the US elections, an Awan brothers timeline has been created to help navigate this intricate story line.

This is potentially huge.

Outside of the "conspiracy theories" of an insider threat spy ring in the DC, this makes the ignorance argument used by the DNC (remember Hillary's "what, you mean wipe it with a cloth?" bullshit?) even less believable. You can't expect ignorance from an IT administrator, especially considering the level of expertise required at his position. Add to that the fact that he tried to hide evidence and flee the country? Yeah, DC is in BIG trouble over this one, even if MSM doesn't cover it.

Thanks for the astute comment. You're right, an IT expert cannot plead ignorance here. There really is enough evidence to merit comprehensive investigation into more serious charges involving Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and espionage.

I think a CFAA charge would be less likely. Traditionally, CFAA has just been used as a tool for the government to lock up dissident "hackers", much less likely they will use it against one of their own. BUT. It will be VERY tough to avoid conspiracy and manipulating evidence charges, possibly perjury, etc.

While I believe that it will be impossible to avoid proof of espionage and treasonous conspiracies, I, in this post 9/11 environment, am certain it will trivial to avoid such charges being laid against the guilty.

I predict immunity for Awan, and his wife. I predict DWS will go down, scapegoated via some contrived love triangle involving Awan, and maybe one, or even both, of his two wives. I predict a leaked video of same.

If Cheney and Bush were able to participate in the most deadly attack on Americans (9/11) and walk away unscathed - which they did - this particular conflagration is practically irrelevant.

We know what has happened to America, and the world, since 9/11. It is easy to see that this is simply part of business as usual for folks that arm ISIS against us, while spending our personal fortunes to do it.

Am I cynical?

It's just that I am unwilling to avoid the obvious conclusions that are glaring out of the mountain of evidence, and Awanna see the end of this sideshow. Can't we just go back to the good old days of cigars and blue dresses?

There is plenty of historical evidence that Awan was a shady character involved in many other types of criminal behavior before his time in the DNC. There is no reason to believe he wasn't continuing the same type of behavior.

I can't wait until this blows up on DWS and the Dems!

If the details come to light I think both Dems and Republicans will be exposed. That being said, I cannot think of a more despicable politician than DWS, she's been in panic mode for a while now trying to cover her tracks and for her IT staffers. It's nice to see them squirm as their corrupt dealings are uncovered.

Excellent discovery! Thanks for sharing.

BOOM!!!!!!!!!
Shots Fired!
DWS was hit broadside and was seen sinking in the west Potomic River like a Confederate sub.
Great Post
Love this shit!
Pitchforks Tar Feathers........ Good times!

Great article . I've been following this . This guy was a used for a whole heap of illegal shit . The democrats knew about him and his shady past and hired to carry out a lot of their dirty work !!!! Obviously They have covered their tracks but you never know as some cracks are appearing !!!

I haven't even heard about this one anywhere else.

There's a concerted effort to keep this out of the headlines, the scandal is just too big. Nobody wants to touch it.

Who was leaking all those emails again? Oh yes, it was the Russians. Great to see that at least one jounalist is invistigating what really happened.

Oh, yeah. Take out life insurance on Luke Rosiak, asap.

I look so forward to your posts everyday!!!! This is a good one :) Thanks for doing what you do v4vapid .. its always an eye opener!! SUNSHINE247

Good plot to put in the next season " House of Cards"

I love that show, but over the last year few years the show is being eclipsed by what's actually happening in reality!

Excellent post, from formatting to links, with everything in between.

It's pretty hard to even conceive of any plausible excuse that might deny the most damning conclusions. Anyone that still feels America remains the land of the free and home of the brave, rather than the land of the fee, and home of the slave, just prefers their fantasy to reality.
