Announcing Digital Art Contest Round #4

So far we've seen some wonderful digital art using themes such as, "Awesome Autumn Art," "The Wonders of Winter," and the subject for Round #1 was "Herons."

This week we are going to do something very different. Simple but different! I am introducing the very fascinating and fun gif effects and I'd like Water to be the main feature.

So the theme of #digitalartcontest round #4 is: "THE RIPPLE EFFECT."

There are many different editing sites available but the one I am familiar with is Lunapic. For those of you who have never tried creating a gif here is a very basic tutorial for you to follow.

This is the Home page of Lunapic.

Click on 'Browse' and download your original image.

Next Step: Click on 'Animation' and choose the 7th Animation titled, "Reflecting Water."

I have chosen three different images to show you the type of thing I am looking for. You may use any water features from the sea, rivers, lakes, pools, or any large body of water that will highlight, "The Ripple Effect" the best.

HELPFUL HINT: It is better to use landscape images rather than vertical shaped images as this particular gif will become elongated causing the finished image to look out of proportion because it will be too tall.

I told you it was easy didn't I? But did I metion how much fun it is to produce your own, unique gif? You''ll never know, if you don't give it a go. I'm hoping this contest will produce a huge Ripple Effect and spread through Steemit-land and that we will see some amazing digital art of the moving kind.

There is no time like the present, so do some browsing, choose your favourite images which feature water and follow the steps provided above. Please take time to check the rules to save disappointment when it comes to qualifying for this contest. I can't wait to see what you will create this week.

Here are the rules.

1. Any photos you use to apply digital effects to MUST be your own original photos and taken by yourself.

2. Only two entries per contest. Include both in the same post to make judging easier AND your original template photo.

3. Include #digitalartcontest as your first tag.

4. Create a post featuring your entry/entries and attach the link to your post and a copy of your photo/photos in the comments section of this blog.

5. Upvote this post.

6. Resteem this post. The success of this contest will be dependant on the activity and involvement of yourselves and others as they learn of its existence.

7. Entries close when this post expires.

In the interests of being fair to all participants, your entries will be disqualified if these rules are not adhered to.

There will be one winning prize of 1 SBD per contest. This prize will increase if there is enough interest in the contest and naturally I will introduce 2nd and 3rd prizes as soon as it is viable for me to do so.

Thanks very much for the kind resteem @melinda010100 I didn't realize you do all your posting on your phone. You must have great eye sight. I need my pc to prevent eye strain. I hope someone can come up with an app that does gifs as I have a feeling you have a couple of intersting images in mind. I'll try and remember to have a look for you but I have a busy week catching up with friends.

I use my Chromebook for many things....but it uses apps and web versions not programs you have to download... I know eSteem will have a web version soon and I am counting the days! I could go on my laptop, but it is so slow compared to my Chromebook or my phone that it drives me crazy.
