@tipU Voting Service Updates - Higher Max Upvotes For New and Interesting Posts :)
Hi guys, I've made a nice update to @tipU upvoting service.
The update is focused on a maximum upvote a user can get. Previously it was set to 2 SBD for every post - that means that no matter how much SBD you send to @tipU, you could always receive 2 SBD upvote and you were automatically refunded payment difference. For example:
- User @cardboard sends 2 SBD to @tipU
- @tipU makes 2 SBD upvote and charges cardboard 0.8 SBD for the service (0.8 x 2.5 = 2)
- @tipU automatically sends back 1.2 SBD to @cardboard
Now, before making the upvote, @tipU checks how old is the post and tries to verify how good it is by checking the amount of comments. The idea is that the interesting posts get more comments then the spam. Then a simple formula is used to decide how high the maximum allowed upvote should be.
Please note that the user will always receive an upvote of 2.5 x of what he paid. The new thing is that new and interesting content will be able to receive higher upvote than old and spammy one. For example:
- User A sends 2 SBD to @tipU for an upvote of old post, that no one responded to.
- @tipU verifies the post and makes only 0.25 SBD upvote paid for 0.1 SBD.
- 1.9 SBD is refunded to user A.
- User B sends 2 SBD to @tipU for an upvote of new post that already has few responds.
- @tipU verifies the post and makes nice 5 SBD upvote paid for whole 2 SBD.
The idea is to promote fresh, interesting content. There's no point at upvoting old posts that generate no user engagement. By spending more voting power on new, good content the vote buyer gets better promotion from @tipU and has higher chance to receive a lot more upvotes from other users :)

Hello @tipu, but I have a question.
How long does the system take to verify that the post has comments and thus decide with which voting power to vote in the post?
At the moment of voting :) but if the post is very new, it can still get higher upvote, even with 0 comments :)
By the way, I will be working on more variables in the system.

By the way I think you should let tipu rest 2 days so that your voting power is 100% and then you continue with the same system to let it rest for 1 day, so you could receive more sbd a day.
Profit is the same no matter the voting power. It's true that the vote value is lower, but more votes can be made so in the end the profit is the same.
What I mean is the following ... With the current state of tipu, only accepts shipments of 0.8sbd approximately the rest is returned, but being 100% could receive + 1sbd per shipments. I explain?
