The Numbers

 
We are just slightly short of 800 members and are still growing at a steady pace.

Promotions

 
Among our members, nobody does quite as much as @bex-dk. In recognition of this she has been awarded the editor-in-chief role. Chief among her duties is the smooth running of all aspects of the editing process.

@jayna and @therosepatch have both been given the editor role and @hispeedimagins has been promoted to host after going through a trial period. In addition to editor, @therosepatch is also now a blockhead after we fully assimilated her. @charu is also a new host, ready to welcome newcomers in the welcome center.

Contests

 
A few weeks ago @rhondak announced the winners of the sci-fi contest. As the post did so well, we were able to split the SBD payout amongst the winners. See this post for more details.

@gmuxx's Art Prompt Writing contest is into its second week. It closes at 23:59 on February 25th and there is a total of 35 Steem plus the SBD payout from the original post up for grabs. See the following link for more details.

At The Writers' Block discord server, we have a running competition in the haikai no renga channel, run by @dbooster and @damianjayclay. Anyone can submit a renga (see here to learn what it's all about). The winning submissions are posted on Steem and the winner gets to choose which charity the earnings from that post go to.

Social Media

 
At The Writers' Block we recognise the value 'traditional' social media can add. We have a Facebook and Twitter presence to not only share Steem posts with the outside world, but also to attract more people to this platform. @nobyeni has taken on the role of social media officer to manage these accounts for us.
