The Sun hits me in the face, I wake up startled. There is no movement inside, the silence is total, and I must have fallen asleep at least two hours. I go inside the volcanic tunnel and I see that the children are still asleep, oblivious to the dangers that threaten us.

Three people come to here, walking very slowly and bring something metallic with them that seem very heavy. I deposit my weapon at the entrance and walk in the direction to help them with the heavy load. Mat with face of not having slept at all, descends from the Observatory to help also.

It is very hot this morning; the sun warms the black rock under our feet. Sweat drops fall down my forehead.

The three men stop to a few hundred meters too tired to go one step further. They drop the iron dough on the ground and sit down on their sides, crestfallen. There are no glimmers of joy despite having hunted down whatever that may be.

"Are you all well?" I wonder while looking at the pile of scrap metal from the ground.
"Yes we are well, we have only some scratches." David says looking at his right arm through which blood falls.
I sit down beside him and ask, "Does this hurt?"
"It's nothing; I cut myself carrying this." David says pointing to the pile of irons.
I clean the blood with a piece of cloth and wash him the wound with some water from my canteen, “it’s not deep but should disinfect it," I say with a reassuring voice.
“What is this supposed to be?” Ask Mat by staring at the iron pile.
David as he tries to stand responds,“ This is what surpassed above us last night, we followed it to the south beach and there we knocked it down."
"Let's take this device to the workshop, the children are about to wake up and they cannot see this." I say as I turn the head to the bedroom.
“You’re right daddy kids cannot see this," says Mat gritting his teeth.

The robot is very heavy but now we are five adults carrying it. It reminds me of one of those devices that became so fashionable global a few years before the financial crisis of 2020. Drone is called, those appliances had four propellers, and this only has two, both on the same axis of rotation as the old heavy-duty transport helicopters used by the army. It is not equipped with any type of weapon, although I am not an expert.
“This device attacked you?" I ask him as we transport the heavy load.
“No, the robot emitted strange sounds when we approached; it seemed to be scanning the ground. I could shoot him from very close and I had to do it twice to bring him down.“ David responded with obvious gesture of suffering.

The heat of the morning becomes more evident as we carry the heavy load to the workshop, it is very difficult to transport due to the numerous sharp metal edges. With every meter that we advance, we feel the effort more, the legs burn me, and the sweat already runs almost all over my body. I cannot even imagine the effort that it will have cost them to bring the robot between only three men.
