This is a post for Monochrome Monday hosted by @old-guy-photos, and for this weeks post I will share some mono shots of the Washington Square Arch.

Starting with a shot of the Whole arch in in Washington Square Park

Now zooming in a little to show some of the detail.

The arch is a memorial built in 1892 it celebrates the Centennial of Georges Washington's Inauguration as President of the United States in 1789

Some more of the cool detail on the arch.
The arch is constructed of Tuckahoe Marble and was modelled on the Arc De Triomphe in Paris.

The Arch stands 47 feet tall and the Icons on the arch some of which I share in this post represent images of war and peace
