Courage means to keep making progress while you still feel afraid. - Joyce Meyer

Oh you can tell, Joyce!

Those of you who've read my blog post The longest five seconds of my life know that I had to make a bad experience the last time I went windsurfing.

Today the tide has turned. I managed to get myself hooked a couple of times - wohoooo!

There's still kind of an inner deadlock, but I'm on a good way.

Here's to the greatness of being literally hooked on a new passion!

@surfermarly being literally hooked

There's nothing you can't do

In my recent blog post Step out of your head and start living I explained how important it is to fully control our mind.

Sometimes it's even more important to be mentally ready than physically trained.

Today I noticed once more how great it is to be able to rely on a strong mindset, will power and a backbone.

After a couple of failed attempts ruled by fear, I finally managed to get hooked again (tie myself to the sail).

Btw: Watch the video until the very end in order to witness a real PRO windsurfing :-)

I hope you enjoyed the clip as much as I enjoyed editing it for you.

Now I need some rest, can't feel my arms anymore - haha! There were some heavy gusts of wind that twitched at my arms, as you may have noticed in the video.

Yet, it's been totally worth it: I made some huge progress today.

Remember: Courage means to keep making progress while you still feel afraid.

We're definitely braver than we actually think.

Great job, you’re having fun now!

Absolutely! :-)
Thanks for stopping by @markvance

congrats! for getting yourself hooked
I've watched your vid all the way
I think it's cause your knees are bent
your legs are supposed to be straight and you're supposed to look like you're leaning on an invisible wall and should be standing diagonally against the sail to get that sail up and steady
just sharing what I've learned when I went wind surfing a couple of times in Batangas
it's not easy and you'll get sore wings the next day
good luck
you look like you're having fun though :)
take care !

My instructor told me something different, but I guess they got all their own training methods :-)
But thanks for your advices, @steemmagnet!
Have a great Monday

Fear is our biggest enemy and we have no choice other than fighting it. Lovely photos! Enjoy your Pizza :D

Haha, the pizza...:-P
Thanks @hanen, I'm glad you enjoyed the post :-)

I can't believe the progress you're making! Is it the perfect spot? Is pure dedication? Or are so talented? Anyway, it is great to see people having a good time outdoors and on top of water.

Hehe, thanks a lot for the salty flowers @dboontje :-))
Maybe it's a mix of all these factors. I just can't get enough of it and try to be super concentrated while navigating.

That picture is really insane, love the motion!!!
I swear I'll never be surfing such a maverick, but I love cheering for those who do :-)

Have a fantastic Sunday eve, surfer! Happy you stopped by...;-)

Following you as always! Surfs up! 🤙
Chill out Sunday to you too.

Great to see you making progress like this! One more lesson like this and I think you can handle a smaller board? :)

How do your lessons look like? Is there any schedule they planned with you?

Thank you @guchtere!! Oh I don't want the smaller board yet, haha :-) I'd rather prefer to feel more secure on the bigger one. But I know: that's how we come further...

There is no fixed schedule since it all depends on my level of progress, and so far we've changed something in all of the training sessions. I started with a 3.0 sail and now I'm with a 4.0 for instance. Two lessons ago I began to try the harness. My instructor is a PRO who competed in the PWA tour until a couple of years ago, so I totally rely on his knowledge :-)

Really fun to watch! Once you master hooking in, your arms will also enjoy it a lot more :) Did you get catapulted a lot?

Well let me say it like that: not all crashes got documented in the video...:-D
Glad you enjoyed it @michelmake!

That's absolutely true that there is nothing you cannot do, if you have the will power to do it.

Yes, your 100% true @indianteam.
I'm newbie here could you please tell me what is #partiko android ?

Steem on! :-)

Thank you @surfermarly, your response helped me a lot to explore and understand steem. 😊🙏

Hello, @surfermarly congrates that you managed to hook i loved watching the video. I too want to surf but can't. 😥

  • @sufermarly You're a fighter. I admire how you overcome all obstacles. You're very strong. I'm glad you beat that bad experience. When we are mentally strong we can achieve whatever we set out to achieve. Take good care of yourself all the time. Always very alert.

I can imagine if @surfermarly can do then why not me!
