Ice God
Foraging through depths unknown
Perplexed by this frigid wasteland
A cold clear monolith stares me down
Its presence a ponderous barricade
My eyes are raised to its darkened splendor
Desire within is to peer past it...
It is too immense
So from my ribs I remove the sword
Shining, warm and red
My life giving way from its pull
Blood gushes out
Hot to the touch
Melting the ice around me
Trickling water spurs me on
The menacing encumbrance before me
Raising the blade above my head
I strike the laughing monument
What happens, to my relief
It gasps warm air and shatters
Stumbling over remains
My vision expands
I take in the view
What is on the other side?
Spring is here one more time
