Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 22/12/2018 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem prices and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your thinking something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do slightly change from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as its important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 22/12/2018

Should you be trading with Steem today..

Wow what a surprise today it was to see Steem not only past the $0.30 mark but now on $0.32 and not long ago it hit $0.33 while this is great it is a little unexpected as Bitcoin didn't shoot up out of the norm. So either Steem was behind and caught up or some smart investors have been buying lots of Steem. I guess it's no secret that today Steem broke out of the pattern and while you would expect Bitcoin to be doing the same its not. Bitcoin went from $3139 to yesterday $4145 around ⏰02.00 and honestly we should of seen Bitcoin go higher but instead it went down. At its peak we saw Bitcoin at the same value as on Dec 2nd literally almost breaking pattern. So while things are looking great this is frustrating to buyers, do they wait incase it goes back down? Or will there be a upwave that they must quickly catch on before it's too late for the cheap Steem! I will wait on Bitcoin breaking pattern. The experts btw believe that the downfall as come to its end or is literally at it's bottom so according to them we should not see Bitcoin go any lower than $2900. So at these prices we continue on this survival mode era of Steemit.com, Bitcoin dropped drastically forcing Steem's own value to tank downward causing "Steem INC" a staff reduction of %70 and a possible threat to the site. Soon after this news there was a live stream for discussing what would happen going forward. The conclusion was to survive by cutting down costs especially getting nodes running cheaper among some other strategies which will still take time to implement. The good news 👍 is with the recent development Ned said we should be able to save enough money to make it through the bear market, and while this is a great relieve we still need to actually do it and survive. Steemit INC assured us they are well on track to delivering the cost reductions for Steem nodes and moving forwards with Light SMT's, the report says that they have made good progress by already realising some of their improvements. Ned said that the priority to work on the Steem network's fundamentals such as RocksDB and SMT's is now more focused than it's ever been during atleast the last 6 months. If Steem INC doesn't produce SMT's someone else will, there are others who are working on making this happen and it's release very soon. Also if you haven't heard Steemit is in the number #1 position on stateofthedapps.com the site is a not for profit directory of decentralized applications on the Ethereum Blockchain, its used to categorise and showcase projects. SBD started dropping yesterday from $0.66 to $0.63 so it was rather surprising to also see SBD pass the $0.70 mark today at ⏰16.30 and now holding at on at $0.73 we even saw $0.74 not long ago.
