ULOG: Ways To More Passion In Life

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

Passion can be something very powerful. For example, do you know the feeling of trembling on the body while you are telling something that touches something deep within you? Something that makes you realize that something is extremely important to you?

I have such moments from time to time and then I know that what I talked about or listened to is something of value. Trembling for me is like a compass that shows me that I'm close, that I'm following a trail that leads me closer to what I feel to be one of the most powerful and powerful feelings in life: Fervour.

Passion moments can pass the time, unleash unknown power reserves and release energies with which anything is possible.

I think that passion at work as well as in private is one of the biggest and most sustainable sources of happiness available to us. Whether you're talking privately of nothing but football or motorsport, whether you're passionate about cooking recipes, or love to talk fond of positive psychology and its great effects - passion makes your eyes sparkle. It is the compelling force in life and - in my opinion - also what you should seek to fulfill, to find fun in the pursuit of your strengths, to be happier in the long run, and to attract people who have this attitude, that passion in life maybe shares completely different fields.

The search for the sparkle in the eyes

Whether it's the trembling on the body that tells you whether you're on the right track, goose bumps or a good friend who tells you that you had that glow in your eyes again - watch out for signs that give you your passion make clear. Or to bring another question into play

If you had all the resources of the world, what would you do from today to the end of your life?

Here are 10 ways to invite the passion to be your equally frequent companion

1. Surround yourself with passionate people
For me, that is the foundation and most effective of all possibilities. Most people do not believe that one can love work because they are constantly surrounded by people who hate their job or at least consider it as a duty to earn their living. People who know what causes them passion and energy, glittering in the eyes of their daily work, often have the fantastic ability to ignite this spark in others as well.

Stay away from people who smile at your ambitions.

2. Create space
If you do not give room for big ideas, they will never show themselves. A sense of life and passion are similar in my opinion. Because doing that which makes you blossom is what you can bring out into the world to make it a better place. Lack of space promotes pressure - a serious killer of creativity for many people. And passion requires the space for crazy attempts outside your comfort zone, outside the normal everyday life.

Start with 5 minutes more space a day. Walk to work on foot or get off at one stop earlier. Do one thing and then the next. Go out into nature. Give yourself the permission to dream.

Be the child who does not yet know that at some point he/she can not do what he/she loves because others find it childish.

3. Challenge the Norm
Stay curious. Ask questions. Do not take everything for real, just because what has been had always been this way ("We have always/never done so!"). Be the kid again, that's why? ask until your counterpart is just why? can't say. In particular, question the things you do not enjoy. Is that really what you want to do? Is it in line with who you are? Maybe there is a better way.

What would that be like? Exactly: new possibilities!

4. Think in Terms
Many of us think in malice rather than potential. We have that weakness and are not as good as the one there. The fact is, each and every one of us has been a surprise at ourselves before in life. Because something worked a lot better. Because we have grown beyond ourselves. Because we did not think of something possible before.

Likewise, many people rarely use what they love and are good at. Because these skills are often not queried from the outside. But how could anyone also learn about the home-made ice cream that you melt on your tongue at home, for which many people would spend a lot of money elsewhere? Or from your brilliant Black Forest cake? Or the invention that makes working in the basement easier for you, but which thousands of people are still looking for on the internet?

Think about the possibilities of using your talents, your strengths, your passion. And above all where and for whom.

And that brings me to the next point.

5. Help someone your way
We all have natural strengths and talents that can dramatically help the people around us. What you find easy can be a challenge for many others.
Repeatedly, we take our abilities for granted and barely notice our gifts, let alone sharing them with others. Ask yourself what people thank you for. Why do you ask people for help because you are very good at it? Are you skilled in craftsmanship? Are you the one who presents the speeches at celebrations that bring tears to others' eyes? Do you inspire others through your motivational style?

Devote time to executing your talents for others every day. This will not only bring passion into your life but also confirmation. And dare to do more.

6. Be brave!
If you feel sweaty hands or a scared feeling in the stomach, you are probably out of your comfort zone. Passion often arises in things we would not have expected before.
Being uncomfortable with things we can not do is completely normal. But it is often the very things that keep us from growing and finding out about our passions and that does not make us act authentically.

7. Try something new
And if the courage has grabbed you, test it. Whether you try a new thing for 30 days or you do not take what you always order in a restaurant - stay experimental!

8. Start a blog
That may not sound surprising to me, but blogs are far more powerful than most realize. Not only does it serve to trump a mind, to connect with other people, and to exchange views. It also provides the opportunity to create a deeper connection with your passions through writing.

It's not about becoming famous, it's about being able to get together with like-minded people (see point 1!) And to inspire and support each other. To find and cultivate one's passion in a quiet room is one thing. But you quickly notice when you are burning for something right. Try #Ulog for writing your daily activities. Thanks to @surpassinggoogle for this idea.

And why not share that with the people you value or even share for your passion?!*

9. Write a journal about what inspires and fascinates you

If a blog is (still) not for you, make a firm commitment to writing down which things inspire you. Photograph quotes, stories or pictures from books, magazines, movies. Write phrases about people, products, music, stories ... everywhere!
Most people are touched daily by a fascinating thought. Regrettably, we often have no time to take up the doctrine of fascination in addition to thinking about our 189-item todo list. Whenever you are irritated and become euphoric with a thought, put it on paper.

Over the years, it will create an ongoing story that shows the things that you enjoy spending your time with.

10. Schedule time for your passion(s)
Even if we are passionate about something and have caught fire - the day does not always give us enough time and opportunities to pursue these activities. Do you want to wait for that to happen again? Or do you want to gain a boost of energy for the day with the employment of your passion? Because that will happen when you follow what fascinates you.

So: off to the calendar with blocked times for your passions!

Conclusion

Try how you can help yourself by helping others. Test what irritates you and your eyes are lit. Allow and take your time for it. Feel what is frightening you and ask yourself why that is so and what keeps you from doing so.
It pays off to start looking for his passion, because getting up every morning and thinking about it and working on it before breakfast, which kindles the inner fire, is one of the most wonderful feelings and experiences that I think you can have.

And what passion would that be with you?
