Self- Discovery On Steemit

Two days back, i heard about steemit for a fourth time this year. I used to hear that steemit pays authors for uploading their content and i thought 'it was too good to be true'.

But this time, i decided to give it a try. Surf the site at least. And what i saw was mind blowing. People were making thousands of dollars daily and i was left out.🙅
Immediately, I clicked the sign up and proceeded to regiatration ASAP, got verified and approved.

I was finally here in this great network.
I was on my way to make money i thought.

I started surfing,looking at catchy posts,trending posts with lots of $$ attached to them , following the big names, likes of @craig-grant, @sweetssj , @yuliana. I wanted so bad to be like them, earn like them.

But to do that, I had to do what they did here .
I forgot to note that they were doing what they enjoyed doing. I just paid close attention to their earnings.

I started trying too hard to be like them, earn like them. Little did i know i was not doing anything right

While trying and trying, i failed to notice i hadnt even made my first post. But i was already bothered about the 0.00$ i saw on every comment i made.😾😾

Then I asked myself, What am i doing wrong?

Thats when i saw @Jetiknight 's video. It was the inspiration i needed. He said in order to succeed, JUST BE YOURSELF.

I went to @craig-grant 's page and i saw his Bio. It was as simple as 'Have fun, Be Free :)'----For someone making this much money? I thought.
Checked @Yuliana bio, she said: 'Smile. Its Free'

Thats when i knew what i was doing wrong, 'I wasnt being myself'. I was trying to play Craig and i sucked at it.

I took a U-turn. I started all over and i decided to do what interests me. I made my first post and i wrote what i love writing , Poems. A very short one. And I posted it to Poetry.

I ended the night on steemit with the poem(you can view here 👇

Then I went to bed.

Only to wake up and check my steemit Blog and Saw 15.85$ on my first Post.

Then i realised that being myself was the last piece of the puzzle. IT WAS ALL I NEEDED TO DO I was very Happy and i was very thankful to @jetiknight for the inspiration👏.

And thats how i moved from earning 0.00$ to 15$ in less than 6 hours.

And I have to say : I really ❤ Steemit. And this is 'ME BEING ME'💪

Morals: To succeed on steemit, Forget about how much your posts are making , Its not the point of steemit. Its just Your reward for being a part of the COMMUNITY.
The main aim of This community is to connect you to other people from different parts of the world and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you succeed here.

And most importantly, Be YOURSELF
