Creative winners!!

Congratulations to all the entrants in this weeks creative comp, it was super hard as always to pick the winners, like beyond difficult. I may change the judging process for next weeks competition just to try to take some of the load off me in regards to picking the winners.

First Prize!

First prize in this weeks comp goes to @errymil for this absolutely gorgeous oil painting, the soft tones and reflection across the water really pulled me into the image, a perfect fusion of the real and unreal. I got a great sense of space and calmness from this work, and it was an obvious winner to me this week.

Second Prize!!

Second prize goes to @dksart with this stunning multi part work on the geisha's, I have always had much respect for the Japanese culture and this artistic effort seems (to me) to align with the creations in the Edo period. The attention to detail and obvious effort made this a shoe in for a top prize this week.

Third Prize!!!

Third prize goes to @airmatti with the stunning creation of these musically inclined pieces, I really felt the movement and soul of the work at a glance, but stood entranced for so long it was difficult to tear myself away. Quite liked the way the performer seemed to be swaying with the music and the attention to the multiple focuses along with the feathered/multicoulored background made this a rather special piece to judge.

Fourth Prize!!!!

Fourth place goes to this amazing oil on canvas by @thetruthbomb, the colours just popped out at me on this long stretch of street, the left side reminded me of a train buzzing by and the variations on the rain slick surface on the floor caught my attention as well. Looking further down the alley I saw the slight distortions in perspective and it gave me a secondary level of meaning in the piece, something about consumer culture, distortion of views, this kind of thing. The candy striping on the pillars in the shadow lines was rather enjoyable as well.

FIFTH PRIZE!!!!!

And for the fifth place we have this absolutely gorgeous looking cardigan created by @neumannsalva which I can just feel the warmth from. I know just how time consuming it can be to go through all the steps of creating a hand knitted garment as my grandmother was/is a seamstress, and I have dabbled in the knitting from time to time. (Shocking!) I really got a techni-colour feel from this creation and the fluro buttons and bright piping on the pocket really made it bouncy and fun.
