INTRODUCTION

Mental health not only refers to an individual’s psychological and emotional well-being. Preferably it’s a condition of psychological and emotional well-being where a person can use their cognitive and emotional abilities, to meet the ordinary needs and functions in society.

A content creator on the other hand is someone who takes on the responsibility to contribute information of any kind to any media but most especially to digital media.

The mental health of content creator is a very important aspect of their lives as he/she tends to express themselves via the content they create. One major reason mental health is not discussed in our society as much as it should be is the fact that people associate mental illness with weakness and laziness. Therefore relegating it to the background.

With no further ado, let's check in with the questions at hand.

How do you feel when creating content? Is it a pleasant experience for you or, on the contrary, does it generate anxiety and discouragement?

As earlier stated, content creators express how they feel through the content they create, so you want to see how I feel, my content created gave me away. A heart full of Joy and enthusiasm is what I derive from creating content.

I am always happy to express my thoughts and feelings via my content, it is because this has given me a platform to express my view. Indeed, I am overwhelmed whenever I take the time to share my ideas with the world through content creation, I feel like a superstar.

This joy comes as a result of the research I put myself through to come up with a delight for the receivers knowing very well that there are a lot of people out there who appreciate my ideas and point of view. This makes me feel loved and important. Steemit not only gave me a platform to be a content creator but also a means to improve my research methods while being rewarded.

Have you ever felt mentally exhausted by generating content daily? Tell us about your experience.

Creating quality content has not been always been easy for me especially when I was a newbie because I was not used to it, I complained virtually about everything. Yes, there were times I got mentally and emotionally exhausted when trying to put down my ideas to good use.

There are days, I just feel tired when take up my pen to write, with my mind questioning me on what to do and not to do. Aren't you tired already?, What's the point of writing anyway when you will end up heartbroken? Can't you see this topic is not interesting enough? This and many more like them ring in my mind and before you know it, my pen gives in.

But there were days I did create content every blessed day, that was before life told me am an adult now with bills to pay and work to do, these days, I only create content in my leisure time but am working on it.

Truly, the Steemit platform has groomed me into a cheerful content creator. My experience here can be said to be a win-win situation, right now my only feelings when creating content are Joy and the feeling of being valued.

What do you feel when your content is not valued as you expect it to be? Does this affect you mentally?

Discourages and demotivated. Yes, I feel my ideas or content wasn't good enough, and with that comes the feeling of discouragement and devaluation. I lose the comfort that comes with being valued, I feel restless when my effort is not given due respect, and tend to question myself about what I did wrong or why am I not given my due respect like every other. Thus, affecting my mental state of well-being.

Like most users, there was a time I had the feeling of giving up on steemit due to a lack of support. But my friends who introduced me to the platform in the likes of @preye2 and @starrchris made me understand that it is not just about self-interest and that it is never a guarantee that one will get the value he/she places for his/her work.

This is true, as we all have different views of things but still believe we all are the best at what we do. With this understanding I came to believe that there is no loser here, it is always a win-win, you either win when valued, or win in experience gained and I must confess, this platform has made me a better person.

I believe that with time and effort, I will get to smile again and this has been my motivation to myself not to quit but rather put in the effort and it will be worth it someday.

What would be your recommendations for a content creator to keep a healthy mind?

Healthy mental health is indeed the most important trait anywhere one finds him/herself and a content creator is not exempted. This is so because, without a healthy mind, it is impossible to put down something educative and informative to the audience, with which comes frustration and giving up is not far off.

But then, what does it take to maintain healthy mental health on this platform?

  • Removing the focus from the rewards, in other words, remove high expectations to avoid disappointment.

  • Comparison is a killer of joy, therefore stay away from comparing yourself with others.

  • Exercise your body daily as daily exercise and healthy food habits keep your body and mind in good shape.

  • Never feel you or your work is undervalued as this would only spoil your mood, rather learn to see the experience gained that way, it is a win-win no matter the outcome.

  • Always Maintain a Positive Mindset as a positive mindset is of major importance to anyone. The state of your mental health is a determinant of the outcome of your life. A positive mind will always have positive results in your life.

CONCLUSION

The mental health of a content creator is related to the personality as a whole of that person. Thus, it is important to safeguard your mental health. Being a content creator on Steemit as being a blessing to me in more ways than I can count. As it has also helped build my mental health.

I can understand your feelings that which thing you want to convey to us. Content creating is a very good way to spend your time in a good way because by writing content you learn many things not only you learn the knowledge that is written in your content you also learn that how to write and your grammatical mistakes spelling mistakes in many more things improve by writing.

When any person starts to write anything and write on the daily basis then definitely he or she cannot write without facing any difficulty as you have said that when you join this platform then writing was not much easy for you and you also feel difficulties and obviously you feel mental exhausted many times by creating the content but when you do something on daily basis then it becomes your habit and you become habitual of this and after that you don't feel any difficulty.

I appreciate your efforts you have right a very good article

I really appreciate your time here. Of a truth, I do feel left out, but I learnt a lot from my experiences and get going. Thank you friend

As always brotherly, you have written well on this topic of bloggers mental health. I felt every piece of your write-up bro, and I commend your lovely effort thus far.

As content creators, we are usually faced with challenges, but that's what makes us stronger mentally. I could equally remember times when my mental health was disturb as a result of creating contents, but am even better and stronger now.

Thanks for sharing and goodluck in this contest.

Yes the mental health of a content creator is relative to his personality. If your personality is wrong, your mindset will be wrong. If you don't take care of your body, you wouldn't be healthy mind-wise.
Thanks for the outlined recommendations.
