Is it nearly 2019 already? Gosh Steemit, you've made it go super fast. What a whirly gig of craziness it's been - from the first quiet and lonely posts back in March til now, where I can barely keep up - even in a slump! I gotta admit I've been a bit down in the last week, wondering if I should stick around. It's not the falling steem price so much, but how it's affected people here as they start to disappear or lament what's going on, as if we haven't been through adversity before. But I'm here, and still smiling at you all - you do make my days, you gorgeous Steemfolk you!

You might have heard that Blocktrades is having a 'win support for a full month' award check it out here and this couldn't come at a better time for me, just when I need a bit of a pick me up. Yet there's so many more deserved than me out there - I've been gobsmacked at some of the responses coming up in my feed like little fairy dust reminders of WHY I'm here!

Am I A Role Model Steemian?

I post quality posts every day and have done since March. If you find a shit post of mine I'll dig myself a big hole and bury myself in it. I think I've missed 4 days since starting. I believe this platform should be about quality, although sometimes we're purely engaging with each other and that's okay too.

I'm the founder of @naturalmedicine which celebrates natural healing on Steemit. I delegate about half of my steem power to help those guys out, which takes a bit of my own juice - makes it harder to make a diff with my personal account but I'd like to think it's all going to the same place - to support folk. We lost a big delegation early on but we're determined to keep going because we believe this kind of wisdom is to the benefit of all Steemians. You can rock up in that Discord channel and I'll hook you up with someone that can help you, from herbalists to meditators to crypto geeks.

I help @richardcrill over at Freedom Tribe organise curations because - yay - Freedom! - and am the biggest supporter of @eaglespirit's awesome Freedom Friday, setting a good example as I post early on Friday in the future here in Australia, 24 hours before the northern hemisphere. It's hard being in the future but someone has to do it. I've been a passenger on @ecotrain early on and have formed really solid friendships with the crew there as we work toward creating a better world through ethical, earth centred posts.

I comment between 10 and 20 posts a day, because I know it feels good that someone is paying attention and feels bad when they don't. And I comment on a wide range of crew as well, not just my own posse. The Steemearth is HUGE and diverse and brilliantly varied. Don't just stick in your own little bubble. I enter contests where I can coz they're fun, even if they don't pay out much, they are definitely worth it for the engagement! Met so many people this way! And I think I'm always ready to help people if they need it - I've delegated to a few crew post fork just to keep 'em steemin'.

I power up EVERYTHING, have bought as much steem as I could afford, don't upvote my own posts anymore and am basically just one big Steem fan that is holding on with both her arms and her legs, like one of those little koala bear thingies on a pencil.

I like this post because I think it's written well, and I'm engaging the community as much as I can. This post unites various groups across Steemit and invites others to write on a topic that's important to me, which is natural medicine. I believe everyone needs to be empowered to make choices about their own health without censorship. Steemit is a really good place to learn about that. I hope you enjoy reading it.
