I have a crazy no, brilliant idea!!!
Let's all read some of our freewrites on camera and load them up to DTube.
This is partly inspired by the beautiful collaboration of @snook and @fireawaymarmot. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure to watch it!!

The other nudge was seeing a video in my feed with the tag #sevendayDtubeChallenge.
I have been playing with DTube and had the intentions to post something every day - but you know how that goes. But we are already doing the freewrite every day and I have been thinking of a way to give them more exposure.
Some of you are such good writers and get so little attention!!
This way, we could reach another audience - and as I mentioned in the video, we can repurpose the audio for a podcast.
As always, you are free to participate as much or as little as you want. That said, I would love to see your lovely faces and hear your lovely voices reading your freewrites.

It is so weird. This one is not playing for me either. The next one, I did, plays fine.
Basically, read your story and post it. I am trying to do a Dtube every day and I think it would give all of you more exposure for the stories. Then, we could also use the voice portion of your reads to put them together as a podcast.
Don't know why Dtube works for me some days - and others - not at all.
And if you let me know that you did one - maybe we do a curation post and try to get more eyes on it.....
Hi Marianne! This is another great idea by you! I hope it will be a big success between the freewriters community, but this time I will not partecipate: first of all, I'm shy of my pronunciation; second, I'm not being on Steemit very much in the next two weeks, due to Holidays and dealing with visits to friends and relatives.

Marco we need to do this Marianne's idea together with some kabuki masks and robotic voices. A voice in my mind ordered to me, it sounded a bit like a Santa in an acid trip with a tiny voice.
Protip: Use Minnowbooster (1$ upvote) to get your post into the hot section. Like that you are on the radar for the really big upvotes.

I love the idea of this, but thus far I can't get dtube to play any of these videos :( It's still new and glitchy, so I'll try again later.
they aren's playing for you or not uploading? I find that sometimes, they upload right away - and sometimes - it just doesn't work. But like you said - they are new....
I was told they can take up to a minute to load. Once you load one it seems to then load others faster.
It's not playing at all. I will just leave it to upload and when I go back later, it just says it won't load at all.
I was uploading Abyni's openmic entries there and those worked for me, but they won't work for the contest because apparently its kind of hit or miss.
That sucks. I wonder if it's the time of day? I loaded mine very late last night.

And now... oof. Dtube doesn't load for me. I need a webcam. That would make all this everything easier.
Your phone works well - assuming that you have a smart phone. Just make sure you hold it sideways. Wished I knew tech more to tell you how to change it to an mp4 or wav file. Dtube is very temperamental. One minute, it works great - and then, not so much....... my first upload today failed. the next try - fast and no problem.....
But they are working on it....
The camera on my phone is not great. And it's just kinda inconvenient.
no problem if that is not for you. if you want to do it, you can always use a still picture and use something like audacity to record into.... So many ways lol
:O it is FOR me. But We'll just see if the inconvenience outweighs the desire as the days become weeks and the weeks become months and years.
